Electricity demand is becoming harder to predict. Intraday volumes are growing, price imbalances are increasing, and pressure on precision is rising. For utilities still focused on selling kilowatt hours, the margin squeeze is real.

In an article published in Sweden's Dagens Industri this week, Hansen Technologies and Emulate Energy shared how they are tackling this together. By combining Emulate's AI-driven HEMS platform with Hansen's commercial and trading systems, we've built a virtual battery that turns household flexibility into a scalable, tradeable resource.

The result: a fully integrated value chain from behind-the-meter optimisation to participation in intraday, balancing and ancillary services markets.

For utilities asking, "what comes after selling electricity?" This is it.

In just the first few weeks, the agent, 'Grace', is already making an impact, handling more than 30 calls concurrently, resolving over 60% of interactions end-to-end, and doing so more than 50% faster than human agents.

Meet Tatjana Sadyrina, our Senior Vice President of Sales & AM - Energy in Oslo. Tatjanaโ€™s career didnโ€™t follow a predictable script, and thatโ€™s exactly what makes it so inspiring.

She started out in psychology, linguistics and the arts, never planning a path into male-dominated worlds of international risk management and energy consulting. Yet this unconventional foundation became her biggest strength: understanding people, navigating complexity and creating clarity where others saw chaos.

Instead of waiting for opportunities, Tatjana created them. At just 22, she coโ€‘founded her first company and soon found herself working across borders, advising major players in highly regulated and fastโ€‘moving environments. She stepped into industries traditionally dominated by men โ€“ not from the sidelines, but at the centre of operations where trust, precision and courage mattered most.

Her superpower? "I build and rebuild companies." By treating every project like it's her own, she transforms chaos into structure, inspiring immense confidence in our clients.

Beyond her high-pressure role, Tatjana brings a colourful energy to Hansen, finding her balance in opera, theatre, and a lifelong passion for Formula One. And along the way, she learned the importance of balance and the strength that comes from staying true to oneโ€™s values.
