Scams Awareness Week tells your customers to look you up themselves.
The national campaign runs 24 to 28 August. Its instruction to consumers is to check who they're dealing with using contact details they find themselves, not the ones in the email in front of them.
So go and be what they find. Open a browser you're not signed into, search your business name and your town, and read the first screen like a stranger would: is there a phone number, is it yours, and does the top result belong to you or to a directory you've never updated?
Australians lost $166 million to redirection scams last year, where a scammer impersonates a business and swaps the bank details on an invoice. A customer who can find your real number has somewhere to check.
Getting your own site onto that first screen is part of what I do: https://www.riftdigital.com.au/website-design
