The City of Bunbury is commissioning a local Noongar Wardandi artist to create artwork for the South West Sports Centre's Little Lappers Swim School.

A $2000 commission will be awarded to successful applicant.

A rediscovered set of Hilma af Klint watercolors she gifted to a spiritualist leader is going on view at David Zwirner.

A major crisis of our times is that in the effort of globalization we have lost our rituals. Tate gallery is catching up and fosters a type of work that is completely delicate to the land. 🌏🌍🌎

“There are many instances where artists have worked with ritual, cosmology and indigenous practices, but Calel’s work is unique in that the ceremony needed to complete it is not performative; it is preparatory and private. The work cannot be considered finished until the ritual is performed by members of the Kaqchikel. If Tate needs to perform it at any point, Calel can do it personally, or he can choose someone else in his stead.”

Tate has acquired its first custodianship of an artwork which extends to supporting causes relating to the artist's tribe.

The “Respiration” vessel belongs to a private collection from today 🙂

More commonly said it is SOLD, out of the Margaret River HEART exhibition which is still running to the end of April.
