Covid-19 pandemic presented a challenging period for the education sector, with schools closures, online learning, homeschooling and increased stress levels amongst teachers, students and parents. I think we are pleased that this is behind us.

It also impacted our business. We lost 2 years of serving schools and early learning centres, with the focus remaining on managing the pandemic and returning to school.

During 2022-2023 we had to reset and we are now back, stronger than ever.

We have been preparing a release for Independent schools in NSW. It includes the newly updated regulations from NESA with all the supporting governance tools required to seamlessly operate your school.

We are also bringing the QIP for early childhood education online. It comes with all mandatory policies and procedures required to operate your centre, stress free.

We are very excited about the opportunity to simply compliance in education.

Today is Youth Homelessness Matters Day.

I am deeply touched by this and I’m thinking of those who are homeless, for whatever reason, generally out of their control.

In Australia 24% of homeless people are young people and over 1m children and young people live below the poverty line. This is our reality.

It’s confronting when someone you know don’t have a roof above their head and they can’t feed themselves.

Today I’m reminded to choose compassion and empathy over hard heartedness. To not over analyse and criticise how homeless people got there in the first place.

To be thankful, to show appreciation, to be kind and to give unconditionally when I can.

We need policy reforms to address the problems in the education system.

Without teachers we won’t have future leaders. We need to invest in teacher development and increase the award to attract more talent to the profession.

Thousands of teachers and principals rallied in Macquarie Street, saying only higher pay and more manageable workloads will stop teacher shortages.

We support the NSW teacher strike 100%.

We believe that:

1. Teachers should be awarded better for raising our future leaders
2. A greater investment into the development of our teachers are required
3. We need reforms that attract more talent to the profession

Teachers’ starting salaries compare pretty well to other professions. What’s needed is much higher pay for the best teachers at the top of the salary scale.
