We've recently invested in new machinery to boost productivity and have significantly upgraded our custom print management software, giving us one streamlined system to manage your jobs from start to finish.

You may notice our quotes, invoices and mock-ups look a little different over the coming weeks as our team completes training and settles into the new system.

MEET THE TEAM 👋

It's been a hot minute since our last team introduction, so we're back with another BLAK Print legend...

Introducing Mel, our Head of Production (or as she's affectionately known around the office... Felony Melanie 😂).

Now before anyone gets concerned, she's neither a felon nor is her name Melanie. We have no idea where it came from, but somehow it stuck.

Mel is the woman behind the scenes making sure your orders leave the building looking exactly as they should. While the rest of us are coming up with ideas, taking orders and creating chaos, Mel is making sure everything is organised, accurate and actually gets done.

Honestly, if you've ever received an order from BLAK Print and thought "that looks bloody good", there's a fair chance Mel had something to do with it.

Today our BLAK Print team had the opportunity to take part in an incredible professional development workshop with NSW YARPA HUB, delivered by Realise Business.

The session focused on creating high-impact content and videos by learning how to better tell stories, connect with audiences, and create content that actually cuts through in a fast-moving digital world.

For us, this kind of learning is important. At BLAK Print, we’re not just about printing products, we’re about building brands, creating connection, and helping businesses, artists, and organisations show up strongly and authentically. Investing in our team means we can continue delivering better service, stronger marketing support, and more creative solutions for our clients and community.

Next up is the woman keeping the BLAK Print shopfront running smoother than Kris Jenner managing a family PR crisis… Makishia Felton 💅🤠

Our Head of Retail, customer experience queen and unofficial office entertainment department.

Makishia is the link between customers, sales and production, making sure orders are organised, clients are looked after and the wheels keep turning day-to-day. Basically, if you’ve walked into BLAK Print and thought “wow this place has its life together”… chances are Makishia had something to do with it.

Makishia brings the perfect mix of glam, chaos control and customer care to the team and somehow makes retail, production and multitasking look easy.

Honestly, we’d probably all be lost without her even if she is late for work most days (apparently fashion like hers take time).

Starting with the woman behind the madness… Lorrayne Fishenden 🤠☕️

Managing Director, professional yarn spinner, part-time cowgirl and full-time chaos coordinator.

Lorrayne is the engine room behind BLAK Print handling operations, logistics, problem solving, deadlines, team management, she is a strategy queen and yes… the very important task of making sure everyone gets paid 💸

She somehow knows how every part of the business works, what’s happening in production, what orders are due, what the social media plan (in fact these posts are her idea) is AND where that one missing box ended up, but gee don't ask her where her keys because you can guarantee she has lost those!

Now for the honest part…

She’s a terrible boss because:
👉 She fires out 100 instructions at once
👉 Has 47 ideas before breakfast
👉 Expects everyone to magically understand what’s going on in her brain… even when she hasn’t actually told anyone 😂

But behind all the chaos is someone deeply passionate about building something bigger than “just a print shop.”

BLAK Print was built with a vision to create bold branding, quality merch and genuine connection while backing regional Australia, supporting other businesses grow through strong branding and standout merch.

At the heart of it, we truly believe strong customer relationships, partnerships and good merch and apparel can genuinely change a business.
