✈️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝗸𝗲 🚗✈️
You know how flying cars have been "five years away" since about 1962? Well…

A journalist just walked through Xpeng's brand new 120,000 square metre factory in Guangzhou — and found roughly 20 actual flying cars in various stages of production. Not renders. Not prototypes behind glass. Real aircraft, moving through a real assembly line.

Xpeng calls it the "Land Aircraft Carrier." It's a six-wheeled ground vehicle that carries a detachable two-seat electric aircraft in the back. The aircraft deploys autonomously, flies at up to 90 km/h, runs on 50 kWh of batteries, and is controlled by a single joystick. Most people reach basic flight proficiency in about 10 minutes.

The ground vehicle recharges the aircraft from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes, supporting five to six complete flights before needing a top-up itself.

The whole package — ground vehicle and aircraft — costs around AU$450,000. Xpeng already has 7,000 pre-orders and is targeting customer deliveries by the end of 2026.

Will you commute to work in one? Not yet — regulatory hurdles are real. But the technology has to start somewhere. Electric cars looked niche once too.
