It’s taken me a day to really process losing such an icon like Dolly Parton!
I’ve loved Dolly for as long as I can remember! My dad absolutely loved her, and as a kid, I remember him loving everything about her!
But it wasn’t until I got older, and particularly in the last few years as I’ve changed so much myself, that I really began to understand what it was about Dolly that made her so incredibly special!
She knew exactly who she was! And she never seemed to feel the need to tone any of it down!
She was fabulously, unapologetically, gloriously herself! 💗
And I think there’s something incredibly powerful about watching a woman live her whole life like that!
Thank you, Dolly, for all the joy, laughter, music, rhinestones and sparkle you brought into the world!
It feels a far less colourful and sparkly place without you in it! Weren’t we so, so, so lucky to have you!!💗
So from now on, whenever I catch myself questioning who I am, worrying that I’m a bit “too much” or wondering whether I should tone myself down…
I’m going to ask myself “What would Dolly do?” 😂💗
And in honour of Dolly, I want you to do the same!
Because something tells me the answer will NEVER be to tone it down! 💖💖
PS enjoy my absolute fav Dolly song in the background! Perhaps have a little singalong out loud! I have been! 😉😉😉
