The school holidays are over and Iโve been feeling a little emotional about how quickly they went.We had two lovely weeks together. But in between all the activities and adventures, there was a business to run, a million things to do and that constant mental to-do list that never really switches off.
And now that heโs back at school, I find myself wishing weโd had more time to do absolutely nothing.
I think the hardest part of juggling motherhood and running a business is that I genuinely love both. But there are days when giving my time to one feels like taking it away from the other. The guilt, oh my goodness, it doesnโt stopโฆ
And the older he gets, the more aware I am of just how quickly these little years are passing.
Iโm sure weโll both remember the adventures. But itโs those slow afternoons, when thereโs nowhere to be and nothing particularly important to do, that I wish I could bottle up.
So today, Iโm going to give my boy an extra-tight hug when I pick him up. Iโm going to play with him, and make a conscious effort to keep my mind focused on being present.
The work will still be there tomorrow. But he wonโt always be this little. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
