CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Pinnacle Wealth Management
For financial organisations, cybersecurity is not simply an IT issue. It plays an essential role in compliance, risk management, client trust and business continuity.
Pinnacle Wealth Management approached IRIS IT with clear cybersecurity requirements: strengthen the protection of sensitive information, meet relevant compliance expectations, and support their cyber insurance requirements.

We developed and implemented a tailored security plan that included:

✓ A network and security upgrade
✓ A business-grade firewall
✓ Next-generation endpoint protection
✓ Multi-factor authentication for remote access
✓ Enhanced email, spam and phishing protection

The upgrade was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption, giving Pinnacle Wealth Management a stronger security framework and the added benefit of lower insurance premiums.
This is what being a trusted IT partner means: understanding the organisation, identifying its risks and implementing practical solutions that support both compliance and long-term business goals.

3 IT risks every financial organisation should know

Financial organisations hold highly sensitive financial data, client records, payroll information, tax details, and business-critical documents.

That makes them a valuable target for cybercriminals.

As threats become more sophisticated, financial organisations need to think beyond basic IT support and start asking whether their systems are ready for the existing risks.

Here are three risks organisations should be watching closely in 2026-2027:

1. AI-powered scams
Deepfake voices, cloned video calls, and phishing emails that read perfectly are making scams harder to spot. If a “partner” or “client” asks for an urgent payment, always verify through a trusted contact method.

2. Credential theft
Most breaches start with one compromised password. MFA can block most of these attacks, but only when it is enabled across email, cloud platforms, accounting systems, and remote access.

3. Ransomware at the worst possible time
Attackers know when firms are under pressure. financial deadlines such as BAS lodgements, EOFY, and other deadlines are all perfect targets for disruption.

For financial organisations, IT risk is not just a technical issue.
It affects compliance, cybersecurity insurance, client trust, business continuity, and the business reputation.

Is your IT security ready for your next compliance audit?

For legal and financial organisations, compliance is not just about having the right policies on paper. Your technology, security controls, and documentation also need to stand up to scrutiny.

Key areas to review include:

✔ User access controls
✔ Multi-factor authentication and security
✔ Reliable, tested backups
✔ Up-to-date documentation for IT policies and procedures

Gaps in these key areas can:
Increase the risk of a compliance breach such as:
- Failed audit
-Data loss
-Cybersecurity incidents
causing higher cyber insurance premiums.

At IRIS IT, we help legal and financial organisations optimise their IT environment and improve documentation

Fixed Fee. No Surprises.

IT downtime is never just an IT issue for a law firm.

When systems are down, staff lose billable time, client communication is delayed, and deadlines become harder to manage.

But for legal practices, the impact can go further.

Reliable IT systems support more than productivity. They help your firm protect client confidentiality, maintain access to important records, support compliance obligations, and reduce operational risk.

The visible cost might be a support call or an urgent repair.
But the hidden cost is often much higher:

• Missed deadlines
• Lost billable hours
• Delayed client responses
• Interrupted access to documents and emails
• Staff frustration
• Increased pressure on your team
• Greater compliance and security risk
• Potential reputational damage

Many firms only measure the cost of IT when something breaks.
But the real question is

If your systems went down today, how quickly could your firm recover, and what would be at risk while you wait?

A proactive IT plan can help reduce disruptions, strengthen security, support compliance and keep your team working with confidence.

If you are still relying on reactive IT support, now is the time to review whether your systems are protecting your practice or exposing it to unnecessary risk.

Want to reduce downtime and compliance risks before they impact your team and clients?
Contact IRIS IT to review your current IT setup and identify where the gaps may be.

🔐 Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Our Recent Cybersecurity Webinar with Huntress

A big thank you to everyone who attended our webinar, Credential Theft: The Fastest Growing Cyber Threat to Australian Businesses.

It was a fantastic discussion, and we'd like to thank Sean and the Huntress team for sharing practical insights into how today's attackers are compromising business accounts and why identity-based attacks are becoming one of the biggest cybersecurity challenges facing organisations.

One message stood out above all others:

The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) recommends organisations adopt an "assume breach" mindset, recognising that cyber incidents are increasingly becoming a matter of when, not if.

Some of the practical takeaways included the following:

- Avoid using public Wi-Fi for business systems unless connected via a trusted VPN.
- Always verify changes to supplier payment details before making payment.
- Never enter credentials into websites accessed from links in emails.
- Use unique passwords for every account and consider a password manager.
- Use phrases not words to create stronger and harder-to-crack passwords

Cybersecurity is no longer just about protecting devices—it's about protecting identities.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion.

We were honoured to attend the International Women’s Day High Tea at Adelaide Town Hall on 10 March, hosted by the International Women’s Day Association SA.
A special thank you to President Tass Schmidt and the organising committee for bringing together such an inspiring event celebrating the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in our community.
We especially enjoyed the powerful speaker panel featuring remarkable women who shared insights on important issues, including women’s health, child protection, and domestic, family, and sexual violence. Conversations like these are vital in raising awareness and driving meaningful change.
A big thank you to Tamara Seif for the warm introductions and for being such a wonderful table host throughout the afternoon.
To top off the day, we participated in the silent auction and were thrilled to head home with a framed Matildas signed jersey, which has now found its new home at IRIS IT.
A wonderful afternoon of connection, inspiration, and community here in Adelaide.

Last night we had the pleasure of attending "Networking for People Who Hate Networking" with Women in Resources South Australia, and what a fantastic night it was!

We loved connecting and chatting with so many incredible women in the resources industry. The atmosphere was energising while sharing stories and experiences.
A big thank you to Paul Kitching for such a practical and genuinely useful presentation on how to make networking feel more human (and less awkward!).
A couple of standout takeaways for us:
👉 Wear your name tag on the right side — because “Right is right!" making it easier for people to see your name as they shake your hand.
👉 Ask “What keeps you busy?” instead of “What do you do?”
a small shift that opens up far more interesting and meaningful conversations.

Simple changes, but powerful ones.
We also loved chatting with Paul afterwards about human interaction—or as he cleverly puts it, “HI.” A great reminder that at the heart of networking is simply being human.
Thanks again for a wonderful event — we walked away with fresh ideas, new connections, and great conversations.
