Ooft! Something tells me the copyright law department in McDonalds head office would be in overdrive right now! This “new” logo for McDonald’s replacement company “uncle Vanya” is familiar right?

Another case of how copyright law influences graphic design. It’s funny how much humans have brand allegiance and don’t even know it…coca cola red? Cadbury purple? And McDonald’s red and yellow?

Russian authorities could replace hundreds of McDonald's stores with a domestic brand, whose logo is very similar to the American fast-food giant. A trademark registration for the 'Uncle Vanya' brand was filed with Russian authorities. Details here: http://9Soci.al/502E50IlmGe

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jarrod from Mud Hunters 4x4 Parts to create a new logo for the business.

Jarrod had a rough concept in mind, but needed help with bringing the idea to life. I was supplied with a photo or a 4x4 tyre rim as inspiration. I then added some tough looking tyre tread and some mud splatter for that 4x4 "adventurous" touch.

Here is my submission for the "Batoota Dictionary" cover competition. Introducing Sir Bin Chickenton...

The Batoota ended up going for a very understated design, that didn't really go with the brief of "characters of Australia" but I enjoyed the process of giving a book cover a go!

So here is to the humble ibis/bin chicken, a staple of australia!
