Inspired by a friend who is annoyed that all months don't have 28 days, I remembered David Seah's compact calendar, which makes counting by weeks very easy. Useful if you ever have to make regular appointments for anything.

I'll be laminating copies and giving them to my hairdresser, beauty therapist and doctor's office.

I've edited his ten year old version to include NSW public holidays, and start weeks on Sundays, and created:

Enjoy!

One of the best things about Facebook is Messenger. When I once took a month off Facebook, I still used Messenger for one-on-one or group communication. On my computer, I used http://messenger.com. On my phone, I had Facebook notifications turned off, and Messenger notifications turned on. Still do.

So it's great to hear from TechCrunch that I'm now able to share my live location in Messenger, which also shows my arrival ETA by car. If I'm running late, especially on a long journey where it's hard to estimate an ETA, this will be very useful. I can just leave live location on (for up to 60 minutes), instead of sending more frequent updates with my ETA. What do you think?

With the NBN available in much of the upper mountains, and the old phone system turning off as early as November in some parts of Katoomba, it's time to think about switching. For many of us, we'll be saving money when we move to the NBN.

Lifehacker have gathered the cheapest plans for every speed, so if you're a fairly light internet user, or you know someone who is, these might be the plans for you. Keep in mind that download speeds of 12Mbps are about eight times faster than ADSL1.

The NBN comes in many shapes and sizes. In addition to the myriad technology types being deployed, there are also different NBN "tiers" that determine the...

Be cautious using a period-tracking app to prevent pregnancy.

Not only can apps "contain wrong information, as they have virtually no regulatory oversight. ... Scheduling unprotected s*x for days when an app tells them their risk of pregnancy is low ... has a roughly 25% chance of failure"

If you do want to use these apps, "check out who made it. ... Some of the most comprehensive and accurate programs were made by public health groups and agencies like Planned Parenthood and the Mayo Clinic. Free apps also tended to be better."

Period-tracking and birth control–reminding apps are incredibly popular. But a lot of them don't talk about contraception, a new study finds.
