We had a customer recently bring in their load bar & scale indicator for repair. The load bar had been slightly crushed during setup, and now the scale indicator was throwing error codes.

We confirmed that the scale indicator was still functional by simulating new load bars on our test bench. We then disassembled their load bar and confirmed the wiring was still okay.

This particular model had its load cells suspended inside silicone, making it a labour-intensive process to repair, and would likely have cost the customer at least as much (if not more) than purchasing a new set.

Whenever we get to this point during diagnosis, we always tell the customer to go with the option that's better value for them. We're here to help, not make a quick buck.

If you have a device that's acting up, get in touch and have a chat. If you want to send in related devices (like the scale indicator in this case), we're more than happy to look at them at the same time (it often makes diagnosing faults quicker & easier!).

We've recently had several Trimble CFX-750 units come in for touch screen issues. Some were working intermittently, while others weren't recognising inputs at all.

In instances where the device cannot be recalibrated, we can install a new touch panel. We try to keep stock on hand for as many devices as possible so we can turn these around quickly and get customers up and running again ASAP.

If you have a device with touch screen problems, give us a buzz:

This Vicon Baler Monitor came in recently with a few reported issues:

- It wouldn't stay on
- The joystick was bent and required a lot of force to register any inputs
- The device also had a couple of stray wires coming out the back that weren't connected to anything (left over from a previous owner)

We removed the excess wires, found some out-of-spec components that were causing the monitor issue, then straightened out the joystick and installed new switches to improve its feel and responsiveness.

We fix big things, and little things!

A light panel recently came in from a Western Star 4700 Instrument Cluster, with a faulty buzzer and issues with the indicator lights.

For this repair we needed to order some specific parts, but we were still able to turn it around and get it back out to the customer in two weeks.

From March 1st, 2026, our diagnostics fee will be increasing to $325 (ex GST).

Since opening in 2023, we haven’t increased our pricing at all, despite the continued rise in operating costs across the board.

The diagnostics fee exists to cover the time required to properly test and diagnose your device and allows us up to two hours to do this thoroughly. In many cases, we spend longer than this without charging additional labour. If diagnosis takes less time, we always take that into account when preparing your quote.

This adjustment allows us to continue fairly supporting our team and ensures we can keep providing reliable, long-term support to farmers and machinery owners.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support — we look forward to helping you in the future.

This Case IH Instrument Cluster came in with issues relating to its gauges. Two weren't working, and one had some segments missing.

Unfortunately it is no longer possible to source replacement LCDs for a device like this, and they can get temperamental with age. This particular model had the added hurdle of having the LCD stuck down, meaning we were unable to get the polariser changed.

Still, after replacing several components (including the LCD drivers), and giving everything a deep clean, we were able to restore functionality to the device, minus the polariser.

Sometimes when we get items in like this Pro Track Bale Monitor, we need to simulate typical operating conditions on our test bench in order to diagnose the reported issues.

This involves us manually adding loads and triggering inputs to replicate external devices, then tracing out the PCB until we find the components causing the issue.

It is a time-consuming process, so the more information the customer gives us up-front the quicker we're able to diagnose the issues, get it repaired and sent back. Service manuals and wiring diagrams can really help us with this process if you have them.

When I first started here, I thought charred devices like the one below were damaged beyond repair. Turns out we can fix them!
We give them a good cleaning to remove the carbon, then bench-test the device extensively to find out what components are out of specification. From there, we can replace them and repair any damaged tracks before testing the device to ensure it's good to go.

Fixes like this can be time-consuming, but if the cost of a brand new device is exorbitant or you need the device back quickly, then it can be well worth it.

If you have something that you're not sure is fixable, give us a call! You're always welcome to send us photos of the damage before sending it in - this lets us quickly gauge the potential difficulty of the repair, and compare it to others we've seen in the past. You can reach us at:

We recently had a customer send in their CEBIS Monitor for repair. They reported that it would shut off suddenly without input, and often took over an hour to turn on.

This one took some work. Powering it on our test bench confirmed the customer's report. We disassembled the device and began tracing out the circuits. We found that the faults weren’t caused by a single failed part, but rather a handful of components that had degraded, which made the issue tricky to track down.

After a thorough diagnosis we were able to pinpoint the culprits, replace the faulty components, and get the monitor running reliably again.

Some of the older John Deere screen models are prone to optical bonding gel leakage. While not an immediate issue, over time the gel can work its way through the entire device, eventually leaking through the seams onto your other equipment (and you!).

When we get one of these in, we carefully disassemble the device and clean all components thoroughly before replacing the touch panel, then reassemble and recalibrate the screen.

It's a time-intensive fix but well worth doing. The lifespan of the device is significantly lengthened and it's much cheaper than buying a new unit.
