Hi Everyone - The Bushcomm Horizon 6.7, is quickly becoming one of our most popular compact HF Amateur radio antenna

Checkout this review by Kenneth W Viar Jr - KU4SMC

Kenneth has been keeping us updated on the the contacts he is making with it. He continues to be very impressed in the performance :)

We would generally recommend a 4:1 balun mounted directly to the radiating elements when using a coaxial coupler inside the shack, but a 1:1 should be OK when using a good quality "Shack" tuner

Many thanks again to Kenneth for putting this video together :)

Here's a post just to prove that our antennas are installed in pretty much all corners of the world. :)

Take a look at a Bushcomm HDX-400 installed by Comtech Fiji at the Funafuti airport in Tuvalu.

Previously this control tower had one of our competitors broadband wire antennas installed, and struggled with comms to NZ. Now with the HDX-400 installed, they can reliably chat via HF to other control towers in NZ .

With asymmetrical elements above and below, these antennas offer great short to medium distance propagation characteristics.

We can offer these systems as a turnkey package to suit a Barrett or Codan transceiver, or as a bare kit which allows you to fit your your own tuner to the backing plate.

Hey Everyone.... Just thought I would put the spotlight on one of our more popular compact HF antennas, the Horizon 6.7 Normally used for amateur radio applications, it is a self supporting aluminum dipole antenna with an overall horizontal length of 6.7M.

I actually had one of these installed at my house, using a SG237 tuner mounted directly below the antenna as the coupler. Plan was just to have it up for a few weeks for field testing, but ended up leaving it there for 6 mths..
Worked amazingly well!!! Only reason it came down was because somebody noticed it and asked if they could buy it!! (True story :) ).

You can also mate these up with a coaxial style tuner, but generally you will need to fit a 4:1 balun just below the elements to flatten the range of impedances required for the tuner to match.

Frequency range and Power capability are generally limited by the capability of the tuner/balun

Hi Everyone.

Ive had a few questions recently relating to the 27Metre broadband BBA-100C antenna radiation pattern. Of particular interest was the difference between inverted Vee or Horizontal installation Configs.

This document (Below) also gives the specs on Frequency Vs Gain

Many people may not know that the Bushcomm founder & HF Antenna "Legend" Graham Robinson was involved in the original design of the Robinson-Barnes T3FD- 3 Wire Travelling Wave Dipole.

There are literally thousands of the BBA-100C antennas in use worldwide. Many of them are still in operation 20+ years after installation.

Hi All

Please take a look at the VSWR sweep of the new quick deployment Tactical folded dipole - Looks to me like the Bushcomm engineers have done a nice job of this one! :)

No model designation yet, but the antenna will be 27M in length, conservatively rated at 600W PEP, 1.6-30Mhz.
Radiating elements are made from Kevlar re-enforced braided copper wire (As per previous post)

Chances are the prototype of a 50M version will be coming soon.

Stay tuned for further updates!!!

Radiating elements are made from super strong insulated Kevlar reinforced weaved copper.

Specs for this design will be, 2-30Mhz, 600W PEP, 27M in length, VSWR will typically be < 2:1 across the band.

We will also be offering a 1.6-30Mhz version with a length of 50M.

Bushcomm manufactures a wide range of HF antenna systems to suit Commercial, Tactical & Amateur radio users.

HI guys. Thought I might send a few pics of our NATO & Heavy duty HF Base mounts for mobile and vehicle installations. The NATO mount is predrilled with both the US and UK pattern and is fed through the bottom . These are popular for use on armoured personnel carriers etc.

The second mount shown is based on the NATO mount, but uses a stainless steel stud for mounting. Note that the feed for this model is at the base of the spring. This variant is particularly popular for “Serious” 4x4 use.

Both models require a remote tuner/coupler mounted close to the antenna

Bushcomm can also supply whips to suit

30-100 MHz version with BNC connector for the feed coming soon

300mm Rule shown in photo for scale
