Check your phone model, many 4G phones still fall back to 3G to make calls, and some only make emergency calls on 3G.

Optus and Telstra close access to 3G in September.
This may affect alert pendents (used by elderly incase of falls) home security systems and "home phones" that rely on the mobile phone network.

Ahead of 3G network closures.

Be weary of text messages claiming you have a bill or you have points to collect or packages to collect.
These are the recent ones my phone has blocked.
They are all scams.
Don't reply to them. Just delete them.

3G network will shut down soon.

Our 3G network is scheduled to close on 30 June 2024, so time is running out to upgrade your device to ensure you can still use it after the network shuts down.

took forever to find a place to send unwanted gift cards to.
I received a $5 coles giftcard for a dodgy bag of chips and couldn't find somewhere to send it, because I don't coles usually and the closest is too far from me to go out of my way, to make sense.
Found this as an option.

Hi, beware of scams,
If your computer pops up a message saying you have a virus, with a phone number to ring, it's 100% a scam.
Doubly so of they request access to your computer.
Sadly two I know of this week have had money taken from their bank accounts.
It's just an ad.
Press the power button on your computer and restart.
Then search for and install adblock plus.

If you have some spare time, they could use some extra volunteers, be it mechanical, carpentry, yard work etc come up to Rosewood railway museum.

I'm up there Wednesdays helping out as they try and get things going again, they're also up there Saturdays.
There's a lot of catching up to do after COVID.

We clipped the last of the replacement sleepers between the loco and the crossing today and took down much of the dead vines covering the boiler (round steel structure on the right, a small job with big improvement to the look)

Still so much to do but we're giving it a fair dinkum shake of the sauce bottle.

One of the fellas last week said it's like a workout at the gym but you don't have to pay.
