💙 A little update from us…
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to make it to the Wynyard Tulip Festival today. 😢🌷
We travelled up from the Huon Valley yesterday, with everything packed and ready for what we were really looking forward to being a fantastic day.
Unfortunately, after a very rough night with little sleep, Andrew has been dealing with a significant amount of pain today, and despite hoping things would improve, we haven’t been able to make it to the event.
For those who don’t know much about our story, Andrew was actually a qualified plasterer for around 12 years before serious spinal nerve compression brought that career to an end.
He underwent spinal surgery in 2020, but was left with permanent nerve damage and a condition called Central Pain Sensitisation Syndrome, which means his nervous system processes and amplifies pain differently.
While he’s come an incredibly long way since then, chronic pain is still something he manages every day, and unfortunately some days are much harder than others.
I’ve also had my own challenges with chronic illness, and finding a way to work around our health was actually one of the reasons we started AC3D.
What began as a way to create something we could manage around our circumstances has grown into a business we’re both incredibly proud of.
And honestly, we absolutely love what we do! 💙
Getting out to markets, meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces and seeing the enjoyment our products bring to others is something we genuinely look forward to.
We’ve been fortunate enough to build a business that gives us the flexibility to work around our health rather than the other way around, and that’s something we’ll never take for granted.
But occasionally, days like today are a reminder that even with that flexibility, there are still things outside our control.
It’s certainly frustrating having travelled all this way and missing an event we were excited about, but sometimes these things happen.
We’d like to apologise to the Wynyard Tulip Festival organisers and anyone who was hoping to catch up with us today. We hope everyone has a fantastic day enjoying the festival! 🌷
And as always, a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support AC3D. We’re incredibly grateful that we get to do something we love, and we’re already looking forward to seeing everyone at our next event.
