🚌 Introducing TasBusLive – A Free Real-Time Bus Map for Tasmania

At Healthy Shack Tech, we enjoy building practical digital solutions that help our local community.

In April 2026, we launched TasBusLive, a free website designed to make Tasmania's real-time public transport information easier to access.

The platform provides a simple and mobile-friendly map showing real-time bus locations across Tasmania, helping passengers quickly check where their bus is and when it is expected to arrive.

Since launching, we have been pleased to see members of the community using the service and sharing positive feedback. One local passenger recently told us:

"I now have it on my phone and it's brilliant!"

TasBusLive is an independent community initiative developed in Tasmania, and we are continuing to improve the platform based on user feedback.

We were honoured to deliver the first training session in Tasmania under the Digital Sisters Program, led by Good Things Australia.

Healthy Shack Tech is participating as the Tasmanian delivery partner, working closely with Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania to support women from refugee backgrounds in building practical digital skills for everyday life.

This first session was not only about teaching tools. It was about listening.
Before any curriculum, before any technology, we needed to understand how participants actually interact with services, information, and the community around them. Many daily tasks most people consider simple — reading a message from a school, booking an appointment, understanding a government letter, or identifying an online scam — become complex when language and digital systems intersect.

The session helped us better understand real barriers participants face and will guide how we design future workshops and support materials.

We are grateful to the participants for their openness and trust, and to Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania and Good Things Foundation for the opportunity to contribute to this important work.

This is only the beginning.
Our goal is not just digital literacy, but confident participation in everyday life.

Criminals often disguise money laundering as "easy" work-from-home jobs, offering quick commissions for simple bank transfers. As this video highlights, "easy money" often comes with a heavy legal price.

Verify Job Offers: Legitimate companies will never ask you to use your personal bank account for business transactions.
Identify Red Flags: If an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is.
Take Action: If you encounter a suspicious "job offer," report it immediately.
