Got a community group, club or P&C that’s been putting off a new website? This could pay for it.

The Stronger Communities Programme Round 10 is now open. Incorporated not-for-profit groups can apply for $2,500 to $20,000, and building or upgrading a website is an eligible activity. Swipe through for who can apply, what’s covered and the key dates.

A few things worth knowing before you apply:
✔️ The grant can cover the website build, but not ongoing costs like annual maintenance
✔️ Don’t start the work or pay a deposit before you submit your application, or it won’t be eligible
✔️ You’ll need an ABN

CRITICAL WordPress security update released

Two security updates in two weeks. The second one fixes a flaw that could let a stranger run their own code on your website's server, with no password needed.

That's how sites get hacked, filled with spam or taken offline.

I see local sites all the time that are 2+ years behind on updates. The owners never know. The site can look fine on the surface while it's quietly got the back door wide open.

🏁 A few months late to the finish line, but we never actually posted about how the Rally Queensland website performed at the 2026 event. It was a seriously good tourism event for the Gympie region, and I reckon it's only going to get bigger in the coming years! 🏁

A bit (very) late to share this one, but a while back I ran an SEO breakout room at the SE QLD Marketing Summit, hosted by the brilliant Ellen Hardy and the She Is team. Great line-up on the day, Nikki Fogden-Moore on leadership, plus breakout rooms on branding, Meta Ads, organic content and reels alongside my SEO session. Olivia tagged along too, sitting in on the Reels session with Mim Morris for her grant writing business.

I also want to give a shoutout to the upcoming Gympie Women in Business Awards. Olivia and I will not be there this year with a lot of family health stuff going on behind the scenes, but I could not let the event go by without a mention.
