This is exactly what I want the process to feel like 🤎

Creating a website, building your online presence and keeping up with social media can feel like a lot when you’re already busy running a business.

My job is to make it simpler.

Working with Nurtured Moments has involved bringing their vision to life through their website, creating an online look and feel that suits the business, and helping with social media content and their overall digital presence.

But one of my favourite parts of this feedback is hearing that the process has taken some of the stress away.

You don’t need to know exactly what your website should look like, what to post, how everything should work or even where to start.

That’s what I’m here to help with.

We can work through your ideas together, figure out what suits your business, and create something that feels right — without making the whole process overwhelming.

A huge thank you to Nurtured Moments for the lovely words and for trusting me with your business.

If your website, social media or online presence has been sitting on the “I really need to sort that out…” list for a while, send me a message. We can work out where to start.

RIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Calls to Action

You’ve created the post, written the caption, added the photo… but what do you actually want people to do next?

That’s where your call to action (CTA) comes in.

And it doesn’t always have to be “Contact us today!”

Your CTA should match the purpose of the post and give your audience an easy next step.

It could be something as simple as:
Send us a message for a quote
Book online
Visit our website to learn more
Save this for later
Comment below
Tag someone who needs this
Follow for more tips
View our services
Call to check availability

The big thing? Keep it simple.

If you ask someone to comment, share, follow, visit your website AND send you a message all in the same post… chances are they'll do none of them.

Think about the goal of each post first, then choose one clear next step that makes sense.

Sometimes your goal is a sale or enquiry.
Sometimes it’s engagement.
Sometimes it’s getting people to your website.
And sometimes it’s simply building awareness and staying front of mind.

A good CTA helps turn your content from something people just scroll past into something they actually act on.

See you next Friday for more!

Want to take your business online but not sure where to start?

You don’t need to be everywhere or do everything at once. A few strong foundations can make a BIG difference to how easily customers can find, understand and contact your business online.

Here are 5 places I’d start:

1. Get your Google Business Profile sorted
Make sure your contact details, hours, services, service areas and photos are up to date. This is especially important for local businesses wanting to be found on Google.

2. Have a website that actually works for you
It doesn’t need to be huge! Clearly explain who you are, what you do, where you work and how someone can contact, enquire or book.

3. Choose the right social platforms
You don’t need Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn AND everything else. Focus on where your ideal customers actually spend their time.

4. Keep everything consistent
Your business name, branding, services, phone number, website and other details should match across your online presence. Make it easy for people — and search engines — to understand your business.

5. Start creating useful content
Show your work, answer FAQs, share tips, introduce the people behind the business, post customer reviews and explain your services. Give people a reason to get to know and trust your business.

And remember — you don’t have to have it all perfect before you start.

Build the foundations, keep improving them and focus on making it easy for the right people to find you.

Need help getting your business online or improving what you already have? I can help with websites, Google Business Profiles, SEO, social media, content, branding and your overall online presence.

📩 Send me a message and we can work out where to start.

FRIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Taking Content Photos

One of the biggest things I hear from businesses when it comes to social media is…

“I never have anything to post.”

But usually, there are HEAPS of content opportunities happening throughout the week — you just have to remember to capture them.

You definitely don't need a professional camera or perfectly styled photos every time either. Your phone is more than enough for everyday content.

A few things I recommend:
Use natural light where you can
Take the same photo from a few different angles
Grab plenty of vertical photos AND videos for Reels, Stories and social posts
Capture people actually doing the work — not just the finished result
Take little behind-the-scenes clips along the way
Take way more photos than you think you'll need!

And probably my biggest tip…

Don't wait until you need to post something to start looking for a photo.

Get into the habit of taking photos and little video clips while you're working. A 5-second clip that seems boring at the time could be perfect for a Reel later.

Before → during → after.
Wide shot → close-up → details.
People → process → finished result.

One job, service or product can easily give you enough content for multiple posts when you capture it properly.

See you next week for another Dos and Donts.

FRIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Creating Content

Creating content for your business doesn’t mean you need to reinvent the wheel every week.

And you definitely don’t need every post to be perfectly designed, professionally filmed or following the latest trend.

The best content usually comes from simply showing people what you do, what you know and what it’s like to work with or buy from you.

A few easy places to start:
Answer the questions customers are always asking you
Show your recent work, products or services
Take people behind the scenes
Share tips and educate your audience
Show the people behind the business
Share reviews, results and customer experiences
Create content with your ideal customer in mind

And one of my biggest tips — stop making every post a sales post.

People don't need to constantly hear “Book now!” or “Buy this!”

Teach them something. Help them. Show them what you do. Answer their questions. Let them get to know your business.

Then when they are ready to buy, book or enquire, you're already front of mind.

If you're constantly sitting there thinking “I have no idea what to post” — that's something I can help with too. 😊 I can create content pillars, personalised content ideas, strategy, captions, graphics and ongoing social media content based around your actual business and customers.

How to Use Social Media for Business

One of the biggest mistakes I see businesses make is treating social media like a digital noticeboard.

Post. Post. Post. Sell. Sell. Sell.

Then wonder why nobody is engaging.

Social media works best when it's used to build trust, answer questions, showcase your work and help people get to know the business behind the logo.

A good social media strategy should include a mix of:

✔️ Behind the scenes content
✔️ Frequently asked questions
✔️ Customer reviews & testimonials
✔️ Recent projects or work completed
✔️ Tips, advice and education
✔️ Team and business updates
✔️ Promotions and offers

Remember, people usually need to see your business multiple times before they enquire or buy.

The goal isn't just to get likes — it's to stay visible, build credibility and keep your business top of mind when someone is ready to take the next step.

Need help working out what to post for your business? I can help with social media strategy, content ideas, content pillars, content calendars and ongoing marketing support.

FRIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Local SEO

Want your business to show up when someone searches things like “air conditioning Kurri Kurri”, “hairdresser near me” or “earthworks Hunter Valley”?

That’s where local SEO comes in.

It’s basically about helping Google understand what your business does, where you’re located and the areas you service — so it can show your business to the right people when they’re searching.

A few things that can help:
Use the locations you service naturally throughout your website.
Use the words and phrases your customers are actually searching.
Optimise individual website pages rather than trying to make one page rank for everything.
Ask happy customers for Google reviews.
Keep your Google Business Profile active and up to date.
Make sure your business details are consistent across your website, Google and social platforms.

But one thing I definitely wouldn't recommend is stuffing every suburb and keyword you can think of into your website.

SEO still needs to sound natural and actually make sense to the person reading it.

And remember — SEO isn't a once-and-done job.

Your services change, your website changes, competitors change and the way people search changes too. It’s something worth checking and improving over time.

You don't necessarily need to rank Australia-wide either. If your customers are in your local area, that's where your focus should be.

If you're not sure whether your website or Google profile is actually helping people find you, I can help with local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation, website SEO and overall online presence.
