Consider these four essentials of a good website before your next launch or redesign

✔️ Have a purpose

Always make sure you have a clear purpose. How do you want people to act on your website? You’ll never achieve a great design without a clear purpose in mind. With every page you create just ask yourself, what is the purpose of this page? If it doesn’t have one, consider getting rid of it.

✔️ Clean design

Simply put, your site needs to look good while keeping functionality. Easy to follow structure, clear fonts and a colour palette that compliments. If your site looks has inconsistency’s and is off-putting to the eye, it’s time for an update. Refer back to your purpose and what you want the user experience to be.

✔️ Informative and relevant content

Your site should include content that’s relevant and useful to your target market. If you’re a chef that creates and shares recipes, posting the latest iPhone news is conflicting to the rest of your sites content and will be penalised in your site ranking. Google also penalises plagiarism quite harshly so don’t go copy-pasting from other sources in hopes it will boost your own SEO. Simply provide original content that is relevant to your target market. Easy, right?

✔️ Easy site navigation

The general rule; be able to navigate to any page from any page, in one to three clicks. Keep navigation intuitive and simple. Not only does this increase user experience, but Google rewards easy site navigation when it comes to SEO. Just make sure you don’t start over-doing it by adding a tonne of popups.
