Once again I (and I imagine you guys out there as well) have been bombarded by dangerous spam masquerading as Commonwealth bank notifications like below.

Do not click on any links and send it to the bin immediately as you can see from the from address it is .com not the domain Commonwealth bank uses.

These guys are relentless and clever in their fraudulent representation of existing legitimate businesses so beware of emails like this.

Beware of Fraudsters!!

There has been an advisory of fraudulent callers claiming to conduct Australian Bankers' Association bank surveys.

These callers claiming to conduct surveys on behalf of the Australian Bankers’ Association are trying to trick people into revealing their personal details in order to defraud them.

If you receive a call from such a person hang up and ignore any future calls from them.

If you have provided details to these callers, such as who you bank with or your name and date of birth, alert your bank immediately. Upon request, your bank will put a note on your account and monitor it for suspicious activity.

Facebookers, watch out for emails looking like this as you will be quite swiftly infected with malware (nasty software) that is quite a chore to remove. Had a client with an employee that responded to this email and infected their machine that just happened to hold an important database for the business. Took me 5 hours to remove this infection. Costly mistake for this employee!!

Has anyone recently received a phone call from India stating you have a virus on your PC and they will fix it? They often masquerade as Microsoft employees or lately Telstra. If you get one of these please just hang up or do what I would and give them a serving and then hang up.

I had a client recently fooled and it cost them over $600 in useless software before they realised they were being scammed.
