Pull-up banner prices vary wildly. Most of the difference is hidden inside the base.
When you look for pull-up banners online, you’ll find prices that vary enormously – and it’s fair to ask why. The difference is mostly in the mechanism that holds and rolls your banner.
• Very cheap models (often imported and advertised at rock bottom prices) use plastic clips in the mechanism. These clips are fragile and can fail at any time – sometimes after only a few uses, often right before an event.
• Slightly better models replace the clips with plastic screws. They’re an improvement, but plastic wears out, and these stands generally don’t last over time.
This is why we offer alternatives: more robust models with a well designed internal structure, assembled with proper metal screws. Over the lifetime of the mechanism, we can replace the printed banner whenever you need a new visual, and if a part ever has an issue, we can source and replace it rather than throwing the whole stand away.
Models such as the BBG range are heavier, which means they stand much more steadily on the ground – a real advantage outdoors, in busy venues or on uneven floors. They also offer a larger visible area of 85 x 220 cm, which is 10% bigger than the 85 x 200 cm of the more basic models – more space to communicate your message, and a display that stands higher, so it can still be seen from the back of a crowd. Some of our clients have been using theirs for more than 15 years. We simply update the printed visuals from time to time, and the stands still perform as well as when they were new.
So when comparing quotes, look carefully at both price and quality. In the long term, a good, strong model is usually the better investment compared to replacing a cheaper stand every year or so – which also adds to landfill.
I’ll be honest: I prefer to supply the better models because I know they’ll serve customers well for many years. That said, budgets matter, and if a more economical option suits your needs right now, I’m happy to supply that too. My aim is to make sure you have all the information to decide what works best for you.
