We’ve been asked a few times what we use to cover these events.

For the Wi-Fi side, we use Ubiquiti Inc outdoor wireless access points, similar to the commercial gear we install for our SMB and corporate customers every day.

But the important bit is what’s feeding them.

For events like this, we can deliver up to 1Gbps of internet capacity directly from our own locally built wireless network and towers around Forbes.

So rather than relying on whatever happens to be available at the venue, we can bring fast, reliable connectivity with us and build the event network around what’s actually required.

🎉 10 YEARS OF LUKE PUTTING UP WITH US! 🎉
Today marks a bloody impressive milestone: Luke has officially been part of the STECH team for 10 years!
Luke joined us back when STECH was just 4 of us working out of a little office in a shed, having a crack and figuring things out as we went.
Fast forward 10 years and we’ve somehow grown into a team of 17, moved into a much bigger office, built a hell of a lot of cool stuff and probably created a few grey hairs along the way. 😂
Luke has been there through a massive chunk of it. He’s stuck with us through the ups and downs, the good ideas, the questionable ones, the late nights, the challenges and plenty of wins.
More importantly, he’s been there when we’ve had to pivot the business, change direction and adapt to whatever was thrown at us. He’s helped us work through those changes and played a genuine part in getting STECH to where it is today.
And let’s be honest, there have definitely been times over those 10 years where we’ve wanted to throw Luke in the bin... and we’re pretty bloody sure he’s felt exactly the same about us. 😂 Somehow, we’ve all survived.
Ten years with one company is a bloody big achievement, and we genuinely appreciate the loyalty, hard work and contribution Luke has made over the past decade.
Thanks for sticking with us for the ride, mate. We’re bloody lucky to have you as part of the team. 💙

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITCH! 🎉
A massive happy birthday to our Manager, Business Partner, Tech Wizard, Tower Climber, professional pain in the arse and apparently Nath and Nome’s fully grown adult son. 😂

Mitch’s Steele Technology story actually started when he showed up one day with his computer leaking vital fluids all over the table. Somehow, instead of politely escorting him from the premises, we felt sorry for him and gave him a job. In hindsight, this may have been where everything went horribly wrong. 😂

Since then, Mitch has actually left Steele Technology three times over the years... and somehow keeps finding his way back. This time we made the tactical error of letting him invest in the business, so it appears we’re finally stuck with the bastard. 🤦‍♂️

From picking him up in a bloody monsoon when his Mum, aka Maa, and Dad couldn’t collect him after one of his Adelaide adventures, to watching him become one of the most integral parts of Steele Technology, it’s been a hell of a ride.

In all seriousness, Mitch is one of the hardest-working people in the business. Admittedly, he now has a invested interest in the place, so we expect nothing less, but we’ll still give him some credit. 😂

He keeps the team moving, keeps Nome and I somewhat sane, solves an enormous amount of s**t behind the scenes, climbs towers, fixes problems nobody else wants to touch, and has become a massive part of what Steele Technology is today.

He’s a business partner, a mate, family, a constant source of comedy and annoyance, and someone we genuinely couldn’t imagine running this circus without.

From a computer bleeding to death on our workbench, to employee, escape artist, manager, partner and eventually our adopted adult son, you’ve done alright mate. 😂

Happy Birthday Mitch. We love ya, even if after three escape attempts you still haven’t managed to get away from us. 🍻🎂
Now get back to work. But leave your bugs at home!. 😂
