Last night, when the glitter room was quiet and the lights were softly twinkling, a sudden jingle-jingle echoed through the doorway. I turned around—half expecting it to be the wind—and nearly dropped my glitter apron. Standing right there, brushing a few stray sparkles off his hooves, was Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer himself.

His nose glowed such a bright, warm red that it made all the glitter on the shelves shimmer like tiny stars.
“Hope I’m not interrupting,” he said with a cheerful flick of his ears. “Santa told me you needed a little help with Christmas bauble lettering tonight.”

Before I could answer, he trotted over to the workbench, dipped his hoof lightly into the pot of shimmering gold glitter, and started lettering names on the baubles—each stroke smooth and elegant, like magic. Charlie, Gus, Charlotte, Lach… One by one, each bauble glowed a little brighter as if Rudolf’s Christmas spirit soaked into the letters themselves.

The whole room smelled faintly of peppermint and snow.

When the final bauble was finished, he gave a proud nod, shook off a cloud of glitter, and said, “Santa’s waiting. Can’t be late—not with Christmas so close!”

Before I could even thank him, he trotted to the centre of the room, gave a mighty leap, and—whoosh!—he flew straight out of the skylight, his nose lighting the twilight like a ruby shooting star.

And there I stood, surrounded by sparkling baubles, absolutely certain of what I’d just seen:
Rudolf himself had helped prepare Christmas in the glitter room.

I heard a noise and looked into the glitter room. I realised it was Santa who climbed in through the skylight and was busy painting names, in glitter, on baubles. Wow. He even wrapped them up when they were dry and put them in his sled. And off he went, Rudolf at the lead. How exciting. Thanks for the help Santa. I’ll need more help soon so I will leave some cookies and milk out for you 😘🎅🏼❤️
