Most organisations give their travellers’ free range to spend money on travel without proper due diligence. Universally, organisations apply checks after monies have been spent, when managers trawl over expenses claimed by travellers long after they return. How can compliance or ROI be addressed in these circumstances? It can’t, it’s too late, the horse has bolted. At best you can give an employee a slap over the wrist (figuratively speaking) and request they don’t do it again....

Last week Google updated its Google Flights search engine to allow users to add carbon emissions to their search criteria. Carbon emissions are displayed along side the carrier, flight times, price and flight duration. This allows travellers to factor in their carbon emissions when they are looking at purchasing a flight as well as price, travel times and duration. We have created a webpage with information on 34 airlines traveller and employee COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Australian airlines feature prominently within the guide. Qantas leads the way on vaccinations mandating the requirement for travellers to be vaccinated on all international flights. Business travel hit rock bottom during 2020 with travel movements reducing up to 95% in many markets throughout the world. A crippled business travel industry looked to 2021 to restart. However, throughout most of the year, travel has remained in limbo as a resurgent COVID and the Delta variant wreaked havoc. Vaccinations have given the industry new hope.
