When a marine radio stops working, is it really the radio that's at fault? ๐ค
That was the question when this Yellowfin came into our workshop with a VHF radio that had no display, constant static and wouldn't switch off.
It would have been easy to assume the radio had reached the end of its life.
Instead, we took the time to diagnose the system properly.
โ๏ธ Tested the radio
โ๏ธ Checked the antenna
โ๏ธ Traced the power supply
โ๏ธ Found the real fault โ a failing circuit breaker causing a significant voltage drop
โ๏ธ Replaced the breaker and fitted a new antenna after the original had been damaged
The result? The radio was operating exactly as it should, and the customer avoided replacing equipment that didn't actually need replacing.
At Earth 2 Ocean, we believe the right diagnosis is just as important as the repair. Whether it's a simple fault or a complex communications system, our focus is finding the real problem - not just replacing parts.
How confident are you that your marine communications are ready before your next trip?
If something doesn't seem right, we're here to help.
