We’re so excited to have backed our local Territory developers to head down south and take the national stage at Melbourne International Games Week and Games Connect Asia Pacific - GCAP last week.

This year was our biggest NT delegation yet, with 15 developers on the ground, including, for the first time, 5 from Alice Springs representing the newly formed Central Australia Games Industry group.

As well as connecting with the wider industry, a huge focus this year was securing investment. Our devs met with over 10 different publishers and investors such as Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation and many more. One of the publishers was absolutely in awe, saying "this was the game I was most excited to see" - pretty great for a remote studio and a great sign for future investment!

Through The Array's delegate series, we supported local developers Kim (Spellrow), Luke Fronsko (Spell Slinger) and Beverly to attend GCAP and MIGW. These emerging developers were supported and connected on the ground, instantly elevating their opportunities in the space - we can't see what they make!

A special thanks to our local screen agency, Screen Territory for supporting many of the developers to travel to these events - it truly is a lifeline for many of us in regional areas.

And finally, this year was also the first year The Array was in a position to be an official sponsor of GCAP and the Australian Game Development Awards! It feels great to be able to contribute to such a special event run by an even more special team (that's you, Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA), and we want to give a massive shoutout to all of this year’s Australian Game Developer Awards nominees and winners! 🏆

Imagine climbing a dying giant trapped in a time loop to save its life! 🧗‍♂️✨

Meet Daniel Ferguson, a member of The Array for the past 3 years. Daniel is working full-time on his game, Ascent of the Last Colossus, supported by funding from Screen Territory and Screen Australia.

After showcasing the game at BitSummit in Japan as one of eight delegates selected across Australia, he is now at Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW) during GCAP to pitch Ascent of the Last Colossus to publishers at Play Now!

Good luck to Daniel and everyone attending GCAP and MIGW this week! 🎮✨

From a background in marine science to launching his own studio, Luke's journey into game development shows what’s possible with passion and community. His current project, Spellslinger, is a nostalgic rail shooter inspired by classic PlayStation light-gun games, and it has already secured funding from Screen Australia and Screen Territory.

We are thrilled to sponsor Luke to head down to Melbourne International Games Week for GCAP! Supporting Northern Territory creators to connect with the broader industry is at the core of what we do.

To all publishers attending GCAP: Be sure to track down Luke, learn more about Spellslinger, and discover the exciting games coming out of the NT!

Meet Kim, one of three talented game developers sponsored by The Array to attend GCAP (Games Connect Asia Pacific) this week!

In this spotlight, Kim shares his journey into game development—from playing backyard games with his brothers as a kid to creating games, composing music, and making art.

He reflects on the supportive NT game development community, his creative inspirations like Toby Fox (creator of Undertale) and the developer behind Cube Chaos, and why attending GCAP is an exciting step to learn and connect with the broader industry.

"No matter how I choose to present myself, I belong alongside other game devs across Australia." 🎮✨

We are so proud to sponsor Beverly, a local Darwin game developer who has been building her skills in Godot and hand-crafted animation! Beverly is heading off to GCAP to connect with other women in tech, represent the NT, and prove that diverse voices belong in the Aussie games industry.

Community lies at the heart of what we do at The Array, and seeing local creators thrive and find inspiration through events like DigIT means everything to us.

Join us in wishing Beverly the absolute best at GCAP! 🚀🙌

Congratulations to Luke Fronsko on receiving $30,000 in funding for his video game, Spell Slinger!

Luke has been a member of the tech community since the beginning, but only in the last year decided to go full time on his own studio and move it into The Array.

Spell Slinger is heavily inspired by classics such as Time Crisis, but in this game, players are tasked with eradicating evil foes by… well, slinging spells!

Luke’s transition into running his own studio with only his previous tech knowledge (which wasn’t gaming!) shows how industry agnostic being technically proficient is!

Once you learn the skills, the future career paths take you anywhere!

This is a proud milestone for Territory game development and we can't be happier being a part of the journey.

Levelling up the Territory! 🕹️

At Digital Futures 2026, our co-founder Dylan Bennett spoke about how gaming is far more than just a hobby, it is a launchpad for talent growth, creative problem-solving, and the future economy.

It was fantastic to have Hon Minister Joshua Burgoyne MLA in attendance supporting the vision, alongside inspiring innovators like Alisa Camplin AM OLY and Dr Guzyal Hill.

The Northern Territory Government continues to take a progressive approach, actively backing our youth as they explore emerging digital industries and high-performance gaming pathways.

The Array has been proud to be part of Digital Futures for the past three years, and this event remains one of the best examples of students, professionals and industry coming together under one roof to shape what's next for tech in the Territory.

Well done to DCDD and Alfiya Pocock for bringing the event to life once again. The future of tech in the NT is exceptionally bright, and we're proud to keep playing our part.
