Just putting this out there for clarity. Duck IT works on computers. A phone is not considered, by Duck IT, to be a computer. Duck IT does not advertise working on phones. Duck IT does not work on phones or things that connect to your phone. Please do not bring your phone to Duck IT. Bring me a computer. I do not like phones. I like computers.. Especially Microsoft and Commodore. 🙂

About 40 years ago, my Grandfather introduced me to computing through Commodore machines — first the VIC‑20, then the legendary Commodore 64. Those moments in The Den were the spark that shaped everything I do today.

After more than 30 years, Commodore is back. And fittingly, their first new machine is the Commodore 64 Ultimate.

Today, that machine arrived at Duck IT.

A full‑circle moment I never thought I’d get to experience.

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to thank everyone who has supported Duck IT — from our local community in Canowindra to the businesses we’ve worked with across NSW and beyond.

This year has been full of highlights:

💻Expanding workflows and helping families stay connected with remote support.

🦆Sponsoring the Canowindra Show’s poultry section, supporting local traditions and community spirit.

🚗Spending time on the road, helping businesses in Orange, Sydney, Coffs Harbour, and the Gold Coast with their IT needs.

I would like to say goodbye and raise a glass tonight to what I believe has been the best operating system ever built to date. Today Windows 10 officially went EOL (End of Life).

It has been a ride and a half, we had Windows 7 and 8 (8.1) on the market when Windows 10 kinda creeply came along and started muscling it's way onto peoples computers and causing all sorts of havoc including a very heated argument at a Christmas lunch one year LOL

Although the start was a little rocky and as I said a little creepy stalkerish I did fall very hard for Windows 10 who reminded me much of my beloved Windows 7 ❤️ once we broke the ice.
For many years I have enjoyed W10 with her lovely W7 styling but with the speed of W8 making her the ultimate companion.

I have had a fairly rough full day today and not all has gone to plan and I now wonder if it was due to my not noticing that one of my best mates has come to that time. I was for some reason thinking it was the 16th but alas it is today and I found out whilst checking someone's machine to see if it would make the transition to W11, unfortunately not.

So all my fellow nerd, geeks, gamers and ducks, lets have a toast tonight to a bloody awesome Windows that will be remembered as one of the legendary greats alongside '95, XP & 7.
