Excited to be exhibiting at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2026 (Hito-to-Kuruma) in Japan.

At this year’s event, Seeing Machines is showcasing advanced interior sensing demos, including our rear-view mirror mounted camera fused with forward-facing perception technology from StradVision, alongside depth sensing powered by our TDM-based 3D sensing camera.

Strong engagement with Japanese OEMs and Tier 1s continues to reinforce growing demand for leading in-cabin technology solutions that enhance both safety and convenience.

It’s encouraging to see the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS) Occupational Road Use Project recognise the growing role of technology in managing work-related driving risk.

In Chapter 40.2: Heavy Vehicle Operations and Safety, the guidance highlights the importance of implementing an integrated suite of in-vehicle safety technologies - including In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS) and Fatigue & Distraction Detection Technology (FDDT) - to enable real-time behavioural monitoring, early intervention, and data-driven risk reduction.

Because proactive fleets aren’t waiting for incidents - they’re detecting them before they happen.

Seeing Machines was proud to showcase our latest technology to the Board of Directors at MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), an organisation at the forefront of advocating to stop drunk driving across Canada and North America.

In September, we unveiled significant advancements to our Driver Monitoring System, enabling the detection of driver impairment, including from alcohol. Sharing these innovations with MADD Canada’s leadership was a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate how technology can support our shared vision to create safer roads.

A sincere thank you to MADD Canada CEO Steve Sullivan for the invitation, and to President Bob Carreau for participating in the session. We value the opportunity to collaborate with organisations committed to making a real difference.

We’re pleased to announce a pilot program with a major public transport operator in Northern Italy, deploying across select electric buses.

This milestone also highlights the strength of our global collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric, with Mitsubishi Electric Italy introducing this opportunity as part of our broader shared commitment to advancing technology worldwide.

Together, we’re supporting public transport operators as they work to strengthen driver and passenger safety, and improve overall fleet performance.

We look forward to seeing the results of this pilot and continuing our joint efforts to support safer roads for everyone.

What matters more – what’s in the body, or how a driver is functioning?

Part 2 of our Technical Paper Series on Intoxication explains why chemical thresholds don’t always reflect real‑world impairment, and how Driver Monitoring Systems offer a more direct, real‑time safety solution.

That’s a wrap from the 28th ESV Conference in Toronto, Canada. Seeing Machines was well represented throughout the event as our team met with regulators, safety advocates, researchers, OEMs, and other stakeholders from around the world.

Visitors to our booth got an opportunity to see firsthand how our technology can now detect impairment, including impairment from alcohol. This, combined with existing fatigue and distraction detection technology, means our system can detect the vast majority of human behaviours which lead to serious vehicle crashes.

As part of the conference, new research from Monash University Accident Research Centre - MUARC revealed that Driver Monitoring Systems benefit cost ratio of 22:1 over 30 years is firm evidence that DMS is the technological equivalent of the seat belt. We look forward to continuing our conversations to make sure everyone gets home safely.
