Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club Qld

Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club Qld PBQSLSC is dedicated to protecting members of our public who swim or surf at our beach. linktr.ee/palmbeach4221 (Training is conducted locally at the Club).

Company Overview
The Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club was established in 1930, on the same site that our modern clubhouse now stands. Originally known as the City of Brisbane Surf Life Savers, the club was made up of Brisbane members that travelled to the coast each week to sleep in tent accommodation overnight while patrolling the beach during the day. In October 2005, the Club celebrated its 75th Anniversary. And to this day, we maintain a proud history of never having had a loss of life in our patrol area. Many things have changed over the years, but the commitment of members to provide a safe swimming area for the local and holidaying public remains as strong as ever. Our multi-million dollar clubhouse facilities are located right on the beach at the junction of Seventh Avenue and Jefferson Lane. To our supporting and social patrons we provide a restaurant, bar, gaming room and meeting facilities. The lifesaving members enjoy their own club area which has dormitories (male and female), kitchen, lounge area, gymnasium, training rooms and secure storage for a multitude of competition and patrolling equipment. The Club has a strong group of senior members ranging from Old Boys, Life Members and dedicated patrolling members through to the 7 year old nipper. All of our patrolling members hold a Certificate Two in Aquatic Safety to comply with the Association’s requirements. And for those that wish to further their lifesaving skills, training is available for the many other areas of advanced accreditations. Our Junior Association (Nippers) is as strong as any other Surf Club on the Gold Coast and a dedicated group of parents make up the Junior committee that oversee their activities. These include Saturday morning club events, after school training and competition at carnivals and other championships. Surf Sports is a key component in lifesaving for those wishing to pursue competition in the many individual or team disciplines. Palm Beach employs a professional coach who provides skills and endurance guidance to our training squad. Our Club offers much to many. We invite you to become a part of our ‘family’ and enjoy all that being a lifesaver has to offer. Call our club administration office on 5534 2180 if you would like more details about the Palm Beach SLSC Qld.

RAIN / WIND / SHINE = THE LEARNING NEVER STOPS!

We’ve had some great chats with parents on the beach on the weekends about the unpredictable weather we've been having lately. The consensus? Kids want to run, swim, board no matter what the forecast looks like, which is exactly why learning water safety in all conditions is so vital!

Our Nippers show incredible resilience, learning how to safely navigate the surf even when the skies turn grey. As long as conditions are safe, we are out here building confidence and vital skills for life.

Huge shoutout to our incredible volunteers, age managers, and water safety teams for keeping everyone safe and smiling!

MEET CASSY 👋 SURF SPORTS CO-ORDINATOR @ PALMY

We’re excited to introduce Cassy, our Surf Sports Co-ordinator! A Gold Coast local, Cassy grew up and completed her Nippers journey between Tugun and Palm Beach Qld SLSC, giving her a strong connection to the surf lifesaving community.

Away from the beach, Cassy is a midwife and, together with her partner Cain, is a busy mum of five — with four of their kids currently involved in our Nipper program!

In her role, Cassy will help coordinate our Surf Sports program, supporting our athletes, coaches and families as they train, compete and grow within the Club.

We’re very lucky to have Cassy on the team — make sure you say hello when you see her around the Club! 💙

🌊 THE NEXT GENERATION OF LIFESAVERS

What a week for our young lifesavers!

This week, our U14s took an important first step in their lifesaving journey, completing their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), alongside youth members who continued to build their skills and knowledge by upskilling to their Bronze Medallion.

We were proud to welcome members from Tugun Surf Life Saving Club and Currumbin SLSC, joining our Palm Beach Qld SLSC contingent for a week of learning, growing, teamwork and camaraderie.

Across the week, these young members challenged themselves, learnt new skills, supported one another, and gained the knowledge and confidence that will help them become the lifesavers of tomorrow.

A huge thank you to the trainers, facilitators, assessors, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who gave their time to make the week possible. Opportunities like this simply don't happen without you.

Most importantly, congratulations to every young lifesaver from Palmy, Tugun and Currumbin who took part. We can't wait to see you putting those new skills into action on our beaches. ❤️💛

Three clubs. One week. New skills, new friendships, and the next generation of lifesavers.
