Below about $500 a month, what you're really buying with SEO is a monthly PDF.
We published our honest 2026 numbers for SEO in Australia, budget by budget:
$99–$300 a month: automated reports and directory blasts. Buys nothing, often does harm.
$500–$750: light on-page work and a slow content trickle. Progress measured in years.
$1,000–$2,500: a real local campaign with content, Google Business Profile work, links and weekly effort. This is our bracket.
$3,000–$5,000+: aggressive content and authority building for capital cities and national plays.
The maths that matters: if your average job is $600 and SEO lands you five extra jobs a month, that's $3,000 of new work against a $1,000–$1,500 spend. The honest caveat: it takes months to get there.
Our own plans are public: $1,000, $1,500 or $2,500 a month ex GST, no lock-in.
