We all know how frustrating and harmful SMS scams can be. But here's some good news! Now, Telstra customers can play a crucial role in fighting against these scams and protecting others from falling victim to them.

Telstra has introduced the new SMS Scam line - just forward a text 7226, which conveniently spells out "SCAM" on your phone's keypad. By reporting the scams you receive; you're contributing to the effort of making our digital world a safer place.

Telstra is already blocking around 23 million scams each month through their "Cleaner Pipes initiative." However scammers are always one step ahead, constantly creating new scams to bypass existing filters.

It doesn't matter if you're an iPhone or Android Telstra customer, both users can take part in this initiative. For iPhone users: simply press and hold any scam message, select "MORE," and then press the forward arrow. Android users, press the three dots after selecting a message, and choose "Forward."

Once you've done that, send it to 7226, and you've already played your part in helping to prevent a scam!

But wait, does this actually work? According to experts, it might be more effective than we think! Giving your phone a regular reboot can minimise the risk of cybersecurity threats.
When you power down your phone, it forcibly closes any background applications and processes that might be snooping around or collecting your data without your knowledge. You would be surprised to see just how many apps keep running silently in the background.

Have you found that the web links in your Outlook emails keep opening in Edge, instead of your default browser such as Chrome or Firefox? Microsoft is at it again!

Tldr: To change the default browser that Outlook uses

- On Windows
- Open the Outlook app.
- Click the File menu at the top.
- Then, select Options in the bottom left corner of the window.
- On the next prompt, select Advanced from the sidebar.
- In the right pane, scroll to the Link Handling section.
- Then, select whether you like to open links in Outlook using Microsoft Edge or the Default Browser (system) next to the Open hyperlinks from Outlook in field.
- Click OK to finish

Whenever you click a web link in the Outlook app, it usually opens in a browser which is set as default for the whole system — Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
