Dating from 1995 this fully serviced Bose Acoustimass 5 Series II passive system was marketed by Bose using the "Virtually Invisible" slogan because you could put the sub module somewhere inconspicuous and the direct reflecting cube array right and left speakers measure just 162mm x 121mm x 79mm each. It's a passive system designed to be driven from amplifier rated between 10 and 200 watts per channel. A good product from the short lived brand Steiman Audio Labs – the 2009 SMS10 Mk3 is a 10 inch front firing subwoofer with a bottom firing port that radiates 360°. It has both low level (line in) inputs and high level (speaker in) inputs, so can be added to virtually any system to boost bottom end. No doubt others have seen worse, but for us at least this is a record for things found shoved through a subwoofer port! (No doubt perpetrated by the same little darlings who insist on pushing the dust cap in on every driver they can find.) So, for the record… one sock, one pool ball, two used tissues, one green container that rattles, one fake orange slice, one container lid that was actually bigger than the port itself. Well done.
