3,227 Reasons to Smile (& Counting)

Ok, let’s be honest, nobody really likes the dentist. Generally speaking, it’s not a nice experience having somebody poke around in your mouth. Dr Angus Quinn wanted to shift perceptions and evolve the experience into a positive and outcome focused one. With a brand new state-of-the-art facility and wonderfully caring practitioners he is doing this.

From our initial conversations and subsequent insights, we developed an idea based on outcomes, called ‘Reasons to Smile’. As a central idea it allowed all the communication to split between the aesthetic (smile) and functional (feed) benefits of exceptional dental care.

We steered clear of the usual Kodak smiles employed by most dental practices, ‘Reasons to Smile’ allowed the identity to be distinctive, playful and grounded in everyday life. As part of the project we delivered: brand positioning, brand idea, brand identity, tone of voice, practice signage, website, campaign development and a mini style guide.

52 years young.

Founded in 1974, Pakall is an Australian-owned, family-run business and a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging for the food and non-food sectors. We love working with Australian businesses of every size and shape. The challenge was to move Pakall into the future without losing what makes them them.

A complete brand refresh with one foot in the past, one firmly in the future. We evolved the strategy, identity and communications to reflect where Pakall is heading, while protecting more than 50 years of trust and equity. At its core, this was about building better brand foundations. Sharper positioning, messaging, storytelling and creative campaigns gave Pakall an idea to build awareness, improve recall and reach more customers. We updated the visual elements to create a distinctive brand that challenges category convention and shifts perception. The design system is easier for customers to understand and easier for Pakall to manage. Win win.

Services included brand strategy, brand identity, verbal identity, design system, publication design, digital design, website, campaign creation, art direction, photography, illustration, building signage and a whole lot more.

Thanks Greg, Sheree, Roger, Sheddy & Team. Love working with you.

Super Reductive
Getting to the heart of an architectural brand takes care, especially when there’s already a compelling body of work behind it. Working through it with Sally and Justin, the process became about subtraction rather than addition. That reductive approach, grounded in meaning, storytelling and balance, led to a simple identity that reflects the practice, its approach, and the joining of two talented architects.

Context: Draper Noxon is a Melbourne-based architectural practice formed from the coming together of two award-winning studios, Sally Draper Architects and Noxon Architecture.

Size Matters

It’s the question every studio our size gets asked: how big are you, really? How many people, how much capacity, can you handle something this size? It makes sense –> clients want confidence, not risk. Our answer is usually Boost Juice.

We pitched, paid, against two tier 1 agencies for the project. It was a creative pitch, judged on thinking as much as ex*****on. We won. What followed was six months delivering everything Boost Juice needed: positioning, the big central idea, brand story, brand identity, a full photography library, comprehensive guidelines, and the complete application set –> print through to digital to store livery. A small team. A great set of collaborators. No shortcuts.

Size matters, sure. But expertise, attitude and aptitude matter more.

Context: Boost Juice was founded by Janine Allis in 2000. It is the dominant market leader in Australias juice and smoothie bar industry, with nearly 600 stores across more than 14 countries worldwide. Domestically, it operates between 319 and 400 stores, depending on franchise movement, and generated annual AU revenue of $297.6 million in 2026.

Tactile & Bespoke

We love projects of all shapes and sizes, and thrive on that diversity. When an opportunity came along to design a new brand for a Brisbane institution, we jumped at the chance.

In a world dominated by screens, we genuinely love books - that personal interaction with something tactile. We helped the business with a full rebrand and implementation - from positioning, identity and all elements - ‘Fine Books & Things’ was a deliberate play on grounding ‘fine’ and being more relaxed with ‘things’ - a little wit, goes a long way. The vertical logo and use of type is a simple play on book spines. A set of 12 bookmarks were also developed along with a wide range of printed and digital material, including signage. We genuinely loved working on this.

Super proud

We love every project that comes through the studio. Some, though, carry a little more meaning.

VIVIE is one of those. My wife Tash had an idea and decided to make the leap into fine jewellery. It wasn’t a shot in the dark. It was built on 25 years of global retail experience and a lifelong fondness for all things that sparkle.

We’re proud of the brand we created together, and even prouder of Tash.

Not 5, but 6 D&AD Pencils.

The D&AD Awards are upon us again. They represent the pinnacle of creative excellence, design, and advertising globally. Widely recognised as the ultimate creative accolade and the hardest to win, they serve as the industry benchmark for commercial creativity, rigour, and technical craft.

Going back through our archive to check what we’d already won, we realised we’d been getting our own number wrong. Turns out it’s 6 Pencils, not 5. One had gone missing from the list somewhere along the way.

Super chuffed about it. Six is six.

Sixteen years in, and our approach hasn’t changed. We create work that brings our clients’ ambitions to life—work that delivers results, stands out, and has that quality that makes people take notice.

We’ve worked with clients across the globe—from the UK and Europe to the US and beyond. Independent bookshops to nine-figure tech companies, with everything in between. This variety isn’t accidental—it comes from staying curious and maintaining the same standards across different sectors, scales, and countries.

Below is a selection of 60+ projects. Each one made a specific difference: helping a client reposition, grow, or strengthen their market position. One image per project. This shows our range.
