You may have been shopping lately for new PC parts for an upcoming birthday gift, only to find that your usual package of DDR5 RAM is now five times the price it should be.
The same could be said about graphics cards - the fact that a new high end graphics card costs more than a half decent second hand Yaris is utterly astonishing.
But you ask me, "Mike! I'm sure you of all people could find wholesale bargains and help beat this?"
The fact is, no. Wholesale prices are through the roof and I simply can't provide those parts for much better prices than anywhere else.
Which is why I've stopped offering new builds. I refuse to support an industry that's being artificially inflated by a future demand on a product that hasn't even been manufactured. Because, that's the gist of it.
But let's take a look at your existing hardware. Is it ancient? Probably not. Is it getting slow? Doubtful. It's a common trope from yesteryear than hardware that's more than two years old is useless.
My machine, using hardware from nearly ten years ago, is doing perfectly fine. There's nothing at all wrong with it, it just needs the TLC you'd give your twenty year old car. If this is done on the regular, you can have many more happy years of whatever it is you do with it.
If it IS indeed ancient, there's nothing wrong with a certified second hand unit that might be a few years old, but no longer has a use. There are always options.
With all the world going to Hell at the moment, I suggest we all take a step back and slow down, and look out for each other. In the end the only thing that matters is not oil, not money, but the people we are.
So shoot me a message - I'll get back to you with a solution, whether it's a sale or service or whatever else it is you require.
