Thanks for having me Arafmi to bring to life the visual story of the mental health carers forum in Brisbane.

A WhatsApp landed in my inbox today that made me smile.

“Your artwork continues to be our flagship for design.”

A few years ago, I worked with the wonderful team at .collective to create a strategic visual capturing their guiding principles and vision.

Today, as they celebrate their Social Enterprise recertification, that same artwork is still at the heart of their storytelling.

To me, that’s the real power of strategic visual storytelling.

Not creating something beautiful for a day.

Creating something people continue to use because it helps them communicate, align their team and tell their story.

Congratulations to Angharad and the whole Karma Collective team on this wonderful milestone. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey.

If you’d like to see how the artwork has become part of their legacy, I’ve shared the story (and their beautiful video) via the link in my bio.

❤️ What’s one piece of work you’ve created that continues to have an impact years later?

Today I received a message that made my day.

"Your artwork continues to be our flagship for design."

A few years ago, I worked with the wonderful team at The Karma Collective to create a strategic visual that captured their guiding principles, values and vision.

At the time, we weren't creating a marketing piece. We were helping the team make sense of who they were and where they were heading.

Today, as they celebrate their Social Enterprise recertification, that same artwork is still at the heart of their storytelling.

What I love most is that it was one of the team's own ideas to bring the visual back into the spotlight as part of telling their story.

That's the real power of strategic visual storytelling.

Not creating something beautiful that hangs on a wall.

Creating something people continue to use because it helps them communicate, align their team and share their purpose.

Congratulations to Angharad and everyone at The Karma Collective on this wonderful milestone. Thank you for trusting me to play a small part in your journey.

I've written about the project, including how the artwork has evolved over the years and the beautiful video the team created around their guiding principles.

I'd love to know: What's one piece of work you've created that's continued to surprise you years after it was finished?

One of the questions I'm asked most often is: "What happens after the workshop?"My answer is always the same. The real value of a strategic visual isn't the artwork itself – it's what happens when people believe in it and continue to use it.That's exactly what happened with The Karma Collective.Fro...

My concept for this event was me on a cherry picker painting the future of water on a giant water tank. Feels like a full circle moment, as Indi Dust started after I painted our water tank at a beach shack in Red Rock. Event activations are such a smart way to connect the ideas of delegates with your solution-focused brand.

Nerding out with my graphic recording and visual practitioners. The only room you can complement someone on the shape of their ‘g’s’ and they smile appreciatively for the lettering praise.

I took a break in the new year to do an Indi Dust project where I was the client! My brief: Paint a mural on my office wall to become my virtual meeting background. Such a fun project, think I might do it every year. Here's a video of the making-of, thanks to all my little and big helpers along the way.

I’ve just passed the one-year mark since moving to Our Beautiful Beach Life, and when I arrived I had no idea how Indi Dust would evolve in this new place.

On my beach walks, I started picking up shells and thinking about how clients find me. I realised I didn’t need to chase or worry. They arrive when they’re ready. Each one washes ashore, and I pick them up one by one. I write the client’s name on the shell, along with a single word that captures the feeling or impact I hope to create with them.

It’s become a small, grounding ritual. And one year on, this is the result: 45 strategic visual storytelling projects, co-designed with deeply thoughtful, impact-driven humans, all shaped by this beautiful beach life.

I’m signing off for the year with a bucket-load of gratitude. Here’s to the horizon of 2026. I can’t wait to see what washes up next.
