PERTH — WHAT A WEEK!

Supply Nation Connect 2026 in Boorloo Perth for the first time.

It was a great couple of days catching up with mob, clients, friends and plenty of people we hadn’t seen for a while.

Some of the highlights were catching up with Dilun Duwa, Murra Business School, Woolworths Group, Supply Nation CEO Kate Russell, Amanda Healy, Raymond Pratt, Bex Hunter-Harvey from Ochre Dawn, the team from Nani Creative and plenty of others.

It’s always good to get out of the office and actually spend some time with people face-to-face. There’s plenty of business that happens at these events, but for us it’s just as much about the relationships and having a good yarn, and there were plenty of those.

It was also pretty special seeing the Gilimbaa artwork we created for Woolworths Group featured at Connect. Seeing our work out there in the world and being used to help tell a bigger story is always a proud moment.

Then there was the gala! A bit of dressing up, plenty of deadly people in one room, great music and a bloody good night celebrating the Indigenous business sector.

Congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners. There are so many deadly businesses and people doing great things across this country and it’s important that we take the time to celebrate that.

Supply Nation Connect is always a great reminder of the strength of our Indigenous business community.

Deadly 🖤💛❤️

Happy World Photography Day!

We mark the day with this photo taken in 2017 in Yirrkala for Yarrapay. The Rirratjingu-led festival is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and artistic talents of the Yolŋu people, showcasing a vibrant mix of music, dance, art, and traditional practices, offering attendees an immersive experience into Yolŋu culture.

We’ve had the pleasure of being invited into the community on a number of occasions to both capture and perform at the event.

Here, the young ones get painted up ready for bungul ahead of the performances and are checking out some of the shots in the lead up to the big event.

With Dental Health Week just wrapped, we acknowledge the important work done by our client Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section, which tackles the dental service gap in rural and remote areas in with its mobile dental service.

We worked with RFDS in 2022 to create a brand-new bespoke artwork ‘Our Journey is Shared, Our Spirit is Strong’ by David Williams to feature on the dental service truck, which has been travelling the country delivering vital care since 2013.

Great to catch up with Kevin Wilson, Wongutha man and co-founder of Nani Creative, ahead of Supply Nation Connect in Boorloo (Perth).

While Nani and Gilimbaa operate in the same space, we believe we’re stronger as a sector when we support each other, share knowledge and use our collective voice to create greater visibility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander design and creativity.

There’s a natural reciprocity in these yarns as mob. We can compete in business while still looking out for each other and celebrating the growth of our sector.

Now, onto Connect 2026, two big days of business, connection and celebrating Black excellence with the incredible Indigenous business community.

Always good to have a yarn, Kevin. ✊🏾

Happy International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, which is observed on 9th August every year!

It’s an important part of the push to promote the rights of the global Indigenous population and celebrate their unique cultures, traditions, and contributions.

Ten years ago this month David Williams presented at the World Indigenous Business Forum in Sasktatoon, Canada. As part of the event, he also performed at the Saskatchewan World Indigenous Festival for the Arts (SWIFFA) where he is pictured here backstage with senior Rirratjingu clan group Elder, ceremonial leader, and co-founder of Yothu Yindi, Witiyana Marika, and two Māori leaders (Shay Wright and Travis O'Keefe, formally of Te Whare Hukahuka), alongside First Nations performers from Canada.

Happy National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day!

This year's theme, ‘Living Our Truth’ honours truth-telling, the passing of knowledge between generations, and the power of storytelling.

Every child deserves to grow up strong in culture and connected to family, community and Country. We celebrate the strength, pride and potential of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children everywhere.

50 Years of Deadly, 50 Deadly Faces

In celebration of this year’s National NAIDOC theme, 50 Years of Deadly, we’re featuring 50 deadly people over the month of July!

Deadly face number 50 is Zaachariaha Fielding

Music has the power to cross every border, but when it carries language and culture with it, it becomes something even more powerful. Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) artist and musician, Zaachariaha Fielding has captivated audiences around the world with an extraordinary voice and fearless creativity. As one half of the award-winning duo Electric Fields Music Zaachariaha has helped redefine contemporary Australian music by blending soulful electronic sounds with the ancient languages of Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara.

Beyond the stage, Zaachariaha is also an acclaimed visual artist whose paintings celebrate the stories, movement and spirit of the APY Lands including the artist behind this year’s NAIDOC Poster – 50 Years of Deadly with the work titled ‘Paralpi’. Whether singing, painting or sharing stories, Zaachariaha reminds us that culture is not confined to one medium; it is something that connects us all.
