A pier, a sunset… and a brand strategy meeting. Why not? 🌅
Last week, I headed from Brisbane to Cairns to present a brand and marketing approach — and it reminded me how much I value meeting clients face-to-face.
Sure, you can do a lot over Zoom, but you can’t replicate the energy of sharing the same space. The conversation flows differently, trust builds faster, and the relationship feels stronger.
For me, branding starts with that human connection. Strategy and creative ideas follow naturally once you’ve truly understood each other. That’s where the magic happens — and honestly, it’s my fun place.
Travelling a long way to meet someone is more than just “a meeting.” It’s a signal: you matter. And when a client knows you’re invested in them, they’re far more invested in the process.
The trip was also filled with moments that had nothing to do with business… and yet, in their own way, they had everything to do with business.
Dinner on the pier, a night of laughter, and the kind of conversations that make you forget to check your phone. An early morning BNI meeting with that view — something the Cairns locals might take for granted, but for me, it was worth every minute of the early start.
It was one of those trips that reminded me: the best work happens when you connect as people first. The business follows naturally.
