This is Juliet's iconic line in William Shakespeareโs play, ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ถ๐ญ๐ช๐ฆ๐ต, where she laments that Romeoโs surname is irrelevant to the โค๏ธ of the situation they find themselves in.
While this may have been true for Juliet, is this true for your business and websiteโ
Shakespeare probably wasnโt thinking about domain names when he wrote that line. ๐
But when youโre choosing a name for a business, it matters more than you might think.
It needs to work as a business name, a website address and, very often, part of your email address.
When I chose ๐ช๐ฒ๐ฏ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น, it took me AGES. I researched names, checked domains, said them out loud and imagined having to give my email address to someone over the phone.
That test is still one of my favourites.
If you have to explain how to spell your email address every time you give it to someone, the clever name may not be quite so clever after all.
Iโve written a little more about this here, including what to check before committing to a name: https://webwisedigital.com.au/choose-business-domain-name/
