As of Yesterday (October 14th 2025) Support and Security Updates for Windows 10 has officially ended. This means that any older laptops, PCs and other devices that don't meet the system requirements for Windows 11 (such as the devices being too old or lacking modern hardware) will eventually be too dangerous to use online for sensitive tasks such as:
Examples:
• Banking or paying bills online - Hackers could steal your money or account info.
• Shopping with credit cards - Your card details might get stolen.
• Accessing health or government services - Personal data could be exposed.
• Using work tools or sending sensitive emails - Company info might get leaked.
• Logging into social media or password managers - Your accounts could be hijacked.
• Crypto transactions - Wallets and exchanges are prime targets.
(Examples provided by Copilot AI)
The reason why this is, is because as Windows 10 will not get any updates whatsoever, so your device/s will be "more vulnerable to security threats and malware" (quoted from Microsoft directly) from attackers and hackers that specifically target devices that use unsupported software (now including Windows 10)
If you think that this information isn't correct or is very overexaggerated as to what will happen eventually, because all the information that I mentioned won't happen instantly, instead the security vulnerability of these devices (especially for larger companies and businesses) will increase as time goes on. If this worries you in any way, please do some research on what to expect over the next year or 2. Otherwise feel free to contact me for help with the transition to Windows 11 from 10.
For example, if your PC or Laptop is slightly too old for Windows 11 (2017 or older) then we can help by discussing and choosing a new laptop or PC hardware if needed. Specifically for PCs, if the PC isn't OEM (which means that the PC is from a Large Tech company such as Lenovo, HP, ASUS, Acer etc...) then the chance of upgrading the hardware is significantly easier (and cheaper hopefully).
If you already have Windows 11, then you don't need to worry about this post. This post is just for people who are stuck on Windows 10.
