We’ve seen firsthand how much the Regional Tech Hub helps families, farms and small businesses stay connected. Sharing to help spread the word, this service matters.
Over the past week or so, you may have heard that the future of the Regional Tech Hub is currently uncertain. Our existing contract with the Commonwealth is due to conclude on 30 June 2026. We have requested an extension and expect to receive an update in mid-May.
During this time, we have received a significant amount of support, along with many questions from across our network. We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge both.
On behalf of our team of 14 regional, rural and remote connectivity specialists, thank you to everyone who has reached out. Whether through social media, direct messages or phone calls, your support has been genuinely appreciated. Your kind words have meant a great deal to the team and have been a real source of encouragement.
As you would expect, we are navigating this period of uncertainty carefully. In line with our current contractual obligations, our Regional Partnership Team will begin to scale back public-facing events and engagements. If you already have an event scheduled for June, please rest assured that we will contact you directly to confirm next steps.
Does this mean the Regional Tech Hub is closing?
No decision has been made at this stage. We continue to deliver services under our current contract and will share updates as soon as further information becomes available.
Can I still request support from the Regional Tech Hub?
Yes. Our Help Desk and existing services remain fully operational. You can contact us via our website at www.regionaltechhub.org.au
or by calling 1300 081 029. We encourage you to get in touch if you need assistance with phone or internet connectivity.
When will you know if bookings can resume?
We are awaiting advice from the Australian Government regarding future funding arrangements. We will provide updates as soon as a decision is confirmed.
Where can I find updates?
Updates will be shared on our website, through our newsletters, and across our social media channels.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and understanding while we await further information.
In the meantime our website is there, full of free resourses and you can contact our help desk via https://regionaltechhub.org.au/contact-regional-tech-hub/ or call 1300 081 029.
