Long web addresses can make emails and documents look messy. Type something simple like “View the document”, highlight it, press Ctrl + K, then paste your link.🦎

Deleting a suspicious email only removes it from your inbox. Reporting it helps flag the sender, improve filtering and gives your IT team a better chance to protect others.

In Outlook, select the email and choose Report → Report phishing. Don’t click any links or attachments, and contact Gecko if you’re unsure.

It’s quicker than taking a photo and helps you share only the important part of your screen.

A Message from Michael Batrouney.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Gecko IT was named the winner of the Technology and Digital category at the Be.Bendigo Business Awards last week.

It is a genuine honour to be recognised for the hard work, commitment and passion that has gone into building our business.

Almost ten years ago, I started Gecko IT with a simple goal: to create a Bendigo-based Managed Service Provider that could support businesses across the Greater Bendigo region, while employing and developing talented local people.

It has been a fantastic journey. Like any business, there have been challenges along the way, but we have continued to learn, adapt and strive to be better.

Today, I believe we have the strongest team we have ever had. We understand the roles we each play, we are aligned in where we want to go, and we are committed to continually evolving our IT services as technology changes and new risks emerge.

Through all of that change, one thing remains constant: customer service must always be the foundation of what we do.

Our customers put their trust in us to support their businesses, their people and their technology, and we never take that responsibility for granted.

I couldn’t be prouder of Gecko IT, the team behind it, and everything we have achieved together.

A huge thank you to our staff, our customers, our partners and the Bendigo business community for being part of the journey.

Supporting local talent, one laptop at a time. 💻🏁

Yesterday, Sheryl and Maddy had the pleasure of donating laptops to the Girton Racing Team as part of Gecko’s ongoing sponsorship.

We love seeing young people getting hands-on with technology, engineering and teamwork, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping them along the way.

Sending the same email to a group of customers? Use Bcc to keep their email addresses private and prevent any accidental Reply All chaos. 📧

In Outlook:

1. Open a new email.
2. Click Options at the top.
3. Select Bcc under Show Fields.
4. Put your own email address in the To field.
5. Add your customers’ addresses to the Bcc field.

Everyone will receive the same message, but they won’t be able to see the other recipients’ email addresses.

It’s a small step that helps protect your customers’ privacy and keeps your emails professional.
