Ruckus By Design

It’s bye for now…

This has been a delayed announcement, I’ve put it off for a long time.

I don’t feel Ruckus By Design is wrapping up, because Ruckus feels like me and I’m doing so many others things, just not taking on new clients or projects…

• I am raising two young boys
• I am running a household (is this not a full-time gig, like shessshhh)
• I am supporting my soon-to-be hubby in running two businesses (DeAraugo & Lea Electrical Contractors & Bendigo Pumps & Electric Motors)
• I am running an Airbnb (The Sage Cottage Bendigo), with another on the way
• I am running an Agistment centre
• I am helping to run our 50 acre property
• I am on a horse club committee
• I am trying to stay grounded and enjoy some cup-filling activities in there too (thank god for forgiving horses who’s love arrives in sporadic waves)
• I am pretending to plan our wedding in there too (this definitely needs a bit more attention now…)

A special shout out to Lachy, who has always supported the crazy idea of me working all hours of the day and night to deliver for clients. Mum guilt is a killer and he’s given me the years I needed to understand the contribution I make is huge and priceless, even though it might not be money hitting the bank. I love you Lach, thank you xx

Once the boys are a bit older and I found myself with the time and head space to revisit this love of mine, you might see this page come back to life. But until then, I am going to enjoy my babies being young and tackle the next few projects we have on the horizon which don’t include graphic and web design.

I truly appreciate you all for the support. I’ll get all mushy if I tried to put into words how humbling it’s been that people like you have thought I am worthy of your work.

I’ve been lucky to work with Rebecca for many years in a different capacity. It feels like a life time ago now but I sold new homes for many years and Beck was my go-to-gal for all things design, forever thinking outside the box, encouraging boldness and giving my clients confidence in their colour selections.

I’m loving working with RJ Design again discussing graphics, web and socials moving forward!

I LOVE rain but don’t know how keen I am to hunt for Easter eggs in it today with my 2 year old 🥴

Post hunt though, you’ll see me perched up at Ellis Wines for their Wine & Chocolate event, listening to live music, and that’s just what’s happening today.

Working mums are heroes.

Don’t get me wrong, dads are heroes too and my partner is one of the hardest working men I know. But can we just take a moment to appreciate those women who juggle a second job, on top of their most important one, as a mumma.

This isn’t a post to pump up my own tires, as I am so far from having worked this s**t out! I envy those who have.

Our nearly-6 month old has got his first cold. I’ve spent three days holding him when he doesn’t really want to be held but doesn’t want to be put down either. Sleep has been hard, functioning as a family has been hard, spending time with my partner or my 2 year old has been hard. Thank god for grocery deliveries is all I can say. That’s all before work has even been a thought.

I’m so lucky to be able to work from home and I just want to shout out to all the women who are heading into a workplace today, with kids at home or school, well or unwell, you are awesome, you deserve a medal.

I type this as I’m making my third coffee for the day, so ready to open my computer and consider work, until Billy needs me again.

May your Monday be as beautiful as the sunshine we have today. And may your babies cuddle you as tight as you deserve 🤍

Women are bloody incredible and I’m proud to be a member of the girls club, we deserve a day. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re awesome 🤍
