Today marks the final day of Bega Valley Computers.
It’s hard to put into words what BVC has meant to us over the years. What began as a simple goal to help people with technology grew into something much bigger, a way to support families, businesses, schools, young people, and the wider Bega Valley community.
Looking back, we're incredibly proud of what we achieved together. We donated laptops to schools and underprivileged communities in Fiji, provided computers to people affected by the bushfires, supported the Bega Valley Innovation Hub, helped young people build their own computers, hosted gaming nights for local teens, trained four trainees, welcomed countless work experience students, and worked behind the scenes at the Tathra Band Together bushfire fundraiser.
Every day in between, we helped locals with repairs, upgrades, websites, business IT, lost data, and the unexpected technology problems life throws at us.
But the best part of BVC was never just computers. It was helping people through stressful times, giving them confidence with technology, creating opportunities for young people, and supporting our community.
BVC was never just Kim and me. Over the years, Ben, Joe, Michael, Liam, Bronson, Cameron, and Raquel all played a part in what BVC became. Every one of them helped shape the business and left their mark. BVC was built by many hands, many personalities, and a shared commitment to helping others.
To every customer, employee, work experience student, supplier, friend, family member, and community organisation who supported, trusted, or recommended us for almost ten years, thank you.
Your support allowed a small local business to become far more than we ever imagined. While this chapter is ending, the friendships, memories, and lessons will stay with us forever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of the Bega Valley Computers story.
