Have you recently pulled an old console out of storage only to find that it won't turn on or it is just refusing to do as it should? Bring it into the shop and we can figure out what seems to be causing issues and what sort of repair work can be done to solve the problem.

With corporations trying to sn**ch ownership of your media right from out of your hands, now is a better time than ever to make sure you still have the means to play those old physical games that you actually own, regardless of what any licence agreement might try to say.

Had this beautifully well looked after PS2 come in for a bit of a service, needing a new CMOS battery as well as a disc drive service and clean to get it back up to peak performance. Always nice to see that some people look after their consoles this well, but I'm sure I wouldn't get much business if everyone was like this, so if most of you could continue ripping HDMI cables out too hard, that would be appreciated 👍

I look forward to seeing what else this customer brings by the shop, because this was quite impressive to witness.

I have been field testing these high capacity batteries for PS5 controllers on my own personal controller at home and it has effectively doubled the amount of time I get on a single charge while gaming. Usually you can expect around 4-5 hours from the standard Dualsense battery, while this replacement is getting me around 10-11 hours of gameplay before needing to be charged.

I will be stocking these batteries in store from now on as they pass all the tests, so if you want to get more from your controller, get in contact and we can get it sorted for you.

The joy of being a single person team is that there is nobody to fill in for me when I need a day off... I will be back on Wednesday folks!

With GTA 6 right around the corner, now is the perfect time to get that console deep cleaned or repaired in time for your time spent in Vice City. This game is going to push the current generation consoles to their limits and a dusty old console with old thermal paste or liquid metal dry spots just isn't going to cut it.

Get in touch today and organise to get your console GTA 6 ready! FixMyTech Repairs will be closed for the week of the GTA 6 release, so don't hold out too long.

Is your Nintendo Switch gathering dust or just losing your interest? Breathe new life into your old console with a modchip. This allows you to completely unlock the capabilities of the unit to allow you to do everything you want, instead of just what Nintendo wants you to do. From running game backups and emulating all your old consoles like N64 and PS1, to custom themes and mods that completely overhaul your experience on the console.

If any of this sounds interesting to you, get in touch with us today and we can organise to have a modchip installed on your console straight away.

Please note that an SD card is required to be provided with the console for the modchip to function properly. Also this will not work with the Nintendo Switch 2 as there are currently no public exploits for those, so it is restricted to just the Nintendo Switch, Lite and OLED consoles.

Another successful repair on this Meta Quest 3S VR headset that had been tossed around a few too many times. It's always nice to see tech like this brought back to life instead of being tossed out.

This poor DJI drone had crashed and damaged the camera, requiring the entire camera mechanism to be replaced. After getting the replacement camera installed, the drone is back in working order and ready to fly over your back yard and linger a little too long.

If you have one of these drones, I suggest you don't crash it because these parts certainly aren't cheap. Or just go ahead and crash it if you like, it's your drone to do as you want with.

This here is a human, the same one who writes all these posts, fixes all your tech and spends time hand crafting the flyers and designs you see used around this business space.

In a world of AI slop and low effort generated text, I try to make sure that the human side of FixMyTech Repairs is felt both in store and in these posts, even if that means my mediocre design skills in Illustrator are put on show to the world.

With that said, I wanted to make this post to thank everyone who has come to the shop so far and showed their support for my business and made me feel like a human, something I have very rarely had the opportunity to experience while working jobs within a society that values profits above any individual human life. All of this support has made me very thankful that I took a huge risk and made the leap into starting my own business and I am really looking forward to growing it even more to be somewhere that people can trust they are able to go and not be taken advantage of or treated like another opportunity to increase numbers and KPIs.

Anyway, I could ramble on all day about these things, but I will cut it off there and just say thanks again to everyone who has come to the shop so far and shown your support! If you want to hear me ramble some more, stop by the shop and I will happily oblige. 💖
