If you or someone you know if having a small/modest private party/event/gig and need quality sound without flashing lights, obscene levels, and thunderous bass, I might be keen to help.

Quality gear that has rarely left The Cave. 2 QSC K12 for FOH, 2 QSC K12 + K8 for monitors. Midas audio with iPad control; so no unsightly multicores, ops, mixing desk, etc.

No problems supporting speaches, solo/duo/band acts if you've got the space. I can provide some backline by arrangment if you want to host a jam or be prepared to accomodate guest artists, etc.

I'm no DJ, I do not want to be one; so even better if you have your own playlist/device to stream your favourite music.

The event/doco audio rack inlcudes a handheld wireless mic, and 7 wireless lav mic kits (clip-on lapel) for hands-free speaches, to support filming, etc.

Digitial film services available by arrangement/negotiation; supplemtal still photography; live streaming to family and friends who could not make the event is something we can discuss.

To manage expectations,

Minimum booking (audio) will start at $420 which budgets my time for prep, load-in, set-up. pack-down, load-out. and 3 hours of show time. After this, budget $70/hr.

Is anyone in need of additional reliable storage?, for digital media production, etc? I have some as-new 2TB Seagate Constellation Enterprise SATA drives. These were spec'd in a storage array that was never put into production. I've got them in servers, PCs, in my studio workstations, DVRs...

The street price for these was about $260ea

$180ea, 3 remaining

Happy to include SATA cable, and I have Molex to SATA power adapters for $5 if required.

Had to open up a port on a client's firewall for 10 minutes to make a change from a remote location;

Keep in mind: its not like a message goes out to notify -anyone- that such a change has occurred;

In that 10 minutes there were hundreds of failed SSH login attempts from 40 unique IP addresses, trying common/known default username & password combinations for firewalls and networking equipment: "admin", "root", "support", "management" "guest", "ubnt",

This means that there is enough of these zombie machines; clueless victims home and business systems, hacked and put to work as a slave in a botnet; are sitting there port scanning and trying to brute force hack -every- IP, -all- the time. Because nothing about this client or their IP would make them a target.

The Net is not a safe place.

Don't ever leave your firewall with the default admin password; not even for a few minutes!

Use strong passwords.

We have a dead i7 PC and Yamaha home theatre receiver following yesterday afternoons power issues in Mount Clear.
