STOP THE CHOP: The current focus of this catastrophic environmental land grab, destruction of our beautiful parklands, the level of irresponsibility towards the safety of the animals that no longer have their habitats and the general lack of Democratic transparency to the SA public has caused many emotions to run high.
I am a genuinely concerned member of the public - not a professional protestor. but am finding it very difficult not to lose my cool and have been provoked by the lack of commonsense that this issue has raised for the people of our State.
I chose to express my point of view, my protest, my anger and disappointment towards our current Premier in the way that I feel might make me seen and heard. I chose to do it as some would say as a 'keyboard warrior' using images and words that are prompted by the voices of others, media articles, personal views - generally a democratic approach to responding to issue of which we are concerned.
Although I am quite a creative person - I am not going to waste time apologizing to ill-informed members of the public or politicians, because I am generating aspects of the events and points of view by using Ai to generate visuals that reflect my frustration around this matter.
In this case using Ai is not taking away any jobs of graphic designers, artists or discrediting any creative person - it just allows myself and others to produce an abundance of content that is in sync with things and reflect issues that are presented during this journey of discontent.
A current mobility issue prevents me from getting out and about as much as I wish I could so this is the next best thing...
Let's find a way for all of us to keep focused on the key issue of protest and support each other in doing so.
There is amazing collaboration of individuals, teams, families, children, council members, political members, Facebook groups, social media platforms, fighting a battle to be seen and heard.
Let's keep populating visuals and keep the flow of protest images, banners, cartoons, videos etc posted, they will promote discussion and sharing of information and an opportunity to vent amongst ourselves.
Toning down our use of language and avoiding direct targeting of the premier (which is difficult because he is the person who has created this chaos) or groups be they majority or minority.
Let's focus strictly on the issue, idea or behaviour, rather than the individual. Shifting our focus from the person to the topic ensures our content remains objective and avoids crossing into harassment, defamation, or cyberbullying.
Don't waste your energy or disrupt your wellbeing by having to respond to members of the public that choice to have a different opinion about this matter and ridicule us of our efforts to try and make a difference.
Thank you to all the animal protection groups.
An apology to our Kaurna people, the traditional custodians and First Nations group of the Adelaide Plains who are deeply angered by the destruction of Adelaide Parklands Pirlawardii (Possum Park)
I will continue to generate visuals with caution - that are simply a reflection of media articles, significant information, concerns that have been posted, news that is reported on the matter etc most of which comes from our media and allows me and us to keep the conversations going but in a more visual mode.
Gee, I hope I don't ruffle the Premiers feathers - but freedom of speech isn't dead yet and last I looked I still live in a democratic country...not sure for how much longer.
If as a society, we don't action and attempt to 'nip it in the bud' we are allowing politicians, leaders to make decisions without consultation of the public.
Keep Safe in your Protesting regardless of physical attendance or Virtual expression.
More than happy if people want to share the visuals.
