We Say NO to Obsolescence
Every week we see it.

Perfectly good devices being thrown away because a battery isn't available.

A laptop replaced because a charging port failed.
A game console discarded because a manufacturer stopped supporting it.

A niche device abandoned because someone decided it was no longer worth making parts for.
As consumers, hobbyists, collectors, repairers, and owners of specialised equipment, we're constantly told that replacing is easier than repairing. That buying new is the only sensible option. That once something gets old, it's no longer worth saving.

We disagree.

Whether it's a retro gaming console, a VR headset, an older appliance, a vintage computer, an industrial controller, a POS terminal, a music player, or some obscure piece of technology that only a few thousand people still own, there is often a way forward.

Sometimes that means repairing at component level.

Sometimes it means sourcing parts from the other side of the world.

Sometimes it means adapting a compatible part from a completely different device.
Sometimes it means spending hours researching a problem that nobody has documented before.

But every successful repair keeps another device out of landfill and in the hands of the person who values it.

Technology shouldn't become waste simply because it's inconvenient to support.

Sorry, I can't tonight.

Someone's internet is down.

That means:

The TV won't stream

The kids can't get online

The printer has stopped cooperating

Half the house is asking why the Wi-Fi is slow

People think businesses like ours are just “computer repair”.

Nah.

What we actually do is solve friction.

This photo is from a wireless mic system where the antennas are removable identical metal rods with basically zero intuitive design. Someone thought:

«“technically functional = good enough.”»

That mindset is everywhere in tech.

Sometimes the smallest jobs turn into the most interesting diagnostics.

This little right-angle RF adapter came in after an antenna connection issue. On the surface it looks simple, but when signal problems start appearing, the real question is whether the fault is in the adapter, the cable, the socket, or something further down the line.
