Karim guided phrases, lines and counterpoints exactly the way he wanted to hear them — a level of control a traditional tutti recording never allows. The price: the editing had to happen live, take by take, right there in the session.

Nominated for the 2026 German Film Music Award – Best Film Score! 🏆
🚣 A coach, eight outsiders and a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rome.

Adams Acht tells the true story of the German rowing eight and their coach Karl Adam, played by Oliver Masucci, with Felix Kammerer as Hans Lenk. Underneath the sport, the film deals with a country coming to terms with its N**i past while a new dictatorship rises in the East. For it, Karim wrote a fundamentally symphonic orchestral score — an approach that was new for him.

😅 Somewhere around version 26F, the running joke became part of the project.

Karim on delivering version after version: the frustration is real, so is the self-doubt. But if you get past that moment, stay constructive, listen closely and ask the right follow-up questions, it turns into the biggest opportunity for development you get.
