It’s Q1 2024, and Google has initiated the planned deprecation of Third-Party C🍪🍪KIES. While this may not be groundbreaking news, it's particularly welcomed by STRG.CEO, Jürgen Schmidtj. ⬇ ⬇ ⬇
According to him, "You need better ways to monetize your content, and what works best is using it to identify your own readers' 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘴 and evaluate their behavior 𝘪𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭-𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 — and you don't need any third-party cookies to do that." 🙌🏾
Schmidt compiled a brief analysis of the inevitable end of a cookie era in response to Google's FLoC solution, which has since been replaced by The Privacy Sandbox; nevertheless, the message remains as relevant as it was in 2021!
