Last night’s Microsoft outage affected thousands of users, leaving companies paralyzed and critical public services unavailable; such disruptions can even put lives at risk.
When Microsoft 365 goes down, organizations lose access to the email, documents, calendars, and contacts they rely on to operate.
There’s a faster way to recover: keep a hot standby continuously synchronized in Google Workspace. If Microsoft 365 fails, users are automatically redirected to Google Workspace and can keep working, without waiting for a restore.
✅ Zero downtime, not just reduced downtime
✅ Full mailbox and document synchronization, not partial backups
✅ Automatic failover to Google Workspace, followed by synchronized recovery back to Microsoft 365 once the service is stable, no data left behind
This is how enterprise IT teams can meet NIS2, DORA, and CER resilience requirements without relying on a restore window.

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is:

"We'll build a custom solution later."

The problem is that security doesn't pause while development happens.

Between planning, coding, testing, revisions, and deployment, organizations can spend months waiting for a solution, while document access remains inconsistent across Dynamics 365 and SharePoint.

And in many cases, the real challenge isn't building the solution. It's maintaining it as users, roles, teams, and business structures evolve.

If your goal is to keep SharePoint access aligned with Dynamics 365 security, the question isn't just "Can we build it?"

It's "How long can you afford to wait while the risk remains?"

Most Dynamics 365 and SharePoint projects start with a simple goal:

"Let's make documents easier to manage."

And native integration does exactly that.

But as organizations grow, we often see the conversation shift from document management to something much bigger:

👉 Access management

👉 Governance

👉 Compliance

👉 Operational overhead

What works for 20 users doesn't always work for 200 or 2,000.

- New hires join.
- Teams change.
- Roles evolve.
- Document volumes explode.

Suddenly, maintaining consistent access across systems becomes a challenge that consumes far more time and effort than anyone expected.

That's why leading organizations don't just think about integration.

They think about how that integration will scale.

In this carousel, we're exploring 6 hidden challenges that often emerge as Dynamics 365 and SharePoint environments grow.

Have you experienced any of them in your organization?

Cloud outages aren't rare anymore. The real question is: how fast can you recover?

While teams work in a secondary environment, emails are sent, files are edited, and contacts are updated. When it’s time to return to the primary environment, those changes can create conflicts, permission mismatches, duplicate data, and even data loss.

Some organizations manage this by setting a firm cutover date and reconciling every change manually. It works, but it’s slow, costly, and prone to error.

In this piece, we argue that the alternative is to design for bi-directional synchronization from the start. That way, failback isn’t a separate project - it’s simply synchronization continuing to do its job.

Every attachment in Dynamics 365 is quietly doing three things at once:

- Costing more than it should
- Sitting outside the permissions that were supposed to protect it
- And adding one more thing, IT must explain at budget review.

CB Dynamics 365 Seamless Attachment Extractor fixes all three without anyone noticing a change. Attachments move to SharePoint automatically, permissions intact, workflows untouched, storage costs cut immediately.

Same attachments. Same access. A problem nobody must bring up again.

See how this could work for you.

Most business continuity plans have a blind spot: failback.

Failing over to a secondary environment during an outage is often relatively straightforward. The real challenge comes when it’s time to return to the primary environment. Every change made during the disruption must be reconciled - often manually and under significant time pressure, or worse, subject to data loss.

Bi-directional synchronization simplifies that process by automatically keeping both environments up to date. As a result, failback doesn’t require days of manual reconciliation. Teams can simply pick up where they left off.

A backup isn’t the same as business continuity.

When a major IT or cloud outage occurs, businesses need more than access to basic systems—they need up-to-date customer data, files, calendars, contacts, communications, and connected applications to keep working effectively.
In this article, our CEO Thomas Berndorfer, an Ambassador for Cybersecurity and a Forbes Technology Council Member, explores how continuous bidirectional synchronisation between environments is one of the strongest approaches to advanced business continuity strategies.

Read the full article to learn how to build a continuity strategy that keeps your business moving even when systems go down.

As we write this, Microsoft 365 is down for thousands of users. Timely reminder of why this post exists

Email continuity isn't a "nice to have" anymore — it's business survival.
When Exchange or Google Workspace goes down, the real cost isn't the outage itself. It's what happens next: missed SLAs, delayed approvals, support tickets going unanswered, and executives asking why there's no fallback.

Email continuity closes that gap.

By continuously syncing mail to a hot standby, mailboxes stay accessible in real time regardless of what's happening upstream. No manual failover. No waiting. No explaining to leadership why the team went dark.
→ Continuous mailbox replication, not periodic backup
→ Instant failover with zero data loss
→ Full functionality during the outage — not just archive access

Outages aren't a matter of if. The only real variable is how prepared your infrastructure is when it happens.
